No.

They are not dealing with foolish Persian soldiers here, they are dealing with ruthless elite Uruk Hai which could have solo-ed multiple soldiers(not Spartans) on their own.

While a Spartan imo could take down multiple Uruk Hai, Uruks however do not fear as Persians do(not that they are fearless, Lurtz was the only exception). Also, do not forget the Uruk's heavy catapults and ballistas which could have crushed Spartans attempting to block with their shield alone. Also remember that the Uruks are prepared to sacrifice themselves, as shown from the bomber-Uruk which took down the outer walls of Helms Deep.

The Uruk, for reasons already stated.

The 300 lose but they carve up a good few Uruks before they go.

300 footmen is a very bad force for Helm's Deep defense. Too wide, and they'd need a ton of good marskmen.

It'd be more balanced if it was at Thermopylae.

that battle field would they be on, helms deep, thermopaly, a open field, etc. because in the right conditions it could be a diffrent result

Lack of Horses = Lack of Badass final Charge into the middle....

if you took away the seige weapons / crossbows and bombs it'd be more fun.

LOL. Thank God I did not watch those movies. J.R.R. Tolkien must be loling as well.

Actually the scene wasn't that bad...I kinda think of it as Saruman putting his fiery magic into an iron ball for an eager Uruk to ignite.

um...the Immortals were an army of 10,000 strong. It wouldnt be that much of a change between Immortals and Uruk Hai.

and if they fought at Helms Deep or Thermopylae, the 300 would lose. They'd kill a ton of them before going down, however.

Remove the bombs and seige machines, Lower the orcs to about 1000, The spartans would win, and make the setting the greek mountain pass. this is unfair

The thing you have to remember is the spartans used the terrain to their advantage at Thermopylae, they wouldn't be able to do that at helm's deep. They would be at the disadvantage.

As someone said above, I believe a fully trained spartan could take down a few Orcs and stand a good chance of victory, but not outnumbered more than 30 to 1 with catapults and a terrain disadvantage. Orcs are ruthless but they're stupid. Spartan's are ruthless, but brilliant fighters.

Eh...you know the thing to do here would be to open the gates in stages, and then inflict horrific casualties on the Uruk. I could see Leonidas pulling something like that.

Helms deep = lose 300
Thermopylae = complete RAPE...(unless someone snitches them again)

The 300 lose, with the reasons given above already.

The only reason 300 won against the Persian army was because of a terrain advantage. They used the terrain extremely well and had to funnel the Persian army into the narrow channel to even stand a chance against the army. And in the end, they were betrayed and their advantage was taken away..thus sealing their doom.

The Orcs would definitely win unless a specific terrain advantage was given to the Spartans.
