*Raises hand* DCFC is one of the best indie bands around (if not THE BEST), everyone should seriously go out and buy ever cd by this wonderful band, I honestly havent heard a single song by the that got less than 4/5 in my mind. Its not just the beauty of their lyrics for the matter, but the music in itself is wonderful. I would be extrmely intrested in hearign a full lenght Instrumential EP by them. The vocals are just so grand, "Title Track" is just an incredibly clever song

eft uninspired by the crust of railroad earth that touched the lead to the pages of yout manuscript. i took my thumb off the concrete and saved up all my strength to hammer pillars for a picket fence. it wasn't quiet what it seemed: a lack of pleasantries (my able body isn't what it used to be). i must admist i was charmed by your advances: your advantage left me helplessly into you.
talking how the group had begun to splinter and i could taste your lipstick on the filter...
i tried my best to keep my distance from your dress but call-response overturns conviction every time. my memory cannot recall: a wave of alcohol we shared a cigarette and shaved the hours off.
lushing with the hallway concregation, my best judgement signed its resignation.
i rushed this. we moved too fast, and tripped into the guestroom.

i could taste your lipstick on the filter..., that has to be one of the best song lines Ive ever heard in my life, EXTREMELY sexy.

If you enjoy DCFC i reccomend checkign these following bands

The Postal Service
Interpol
The Shins
Snow Patrol

Photobooth
Death of an Interior Decorator

Also check out their other band, Postal Service which plays Dance/Electronic music.

An Indie band. I personally didn't like them at all, but I listened to the Soul Meets Body tune, and I became obessed with them. There music is soft and influenctial to me. They are pretty good, and I will have to check out there other albums. Any Cutie fans?

I have everything by the band. I love their intellegent music and their great songcrafting. Though Im slightly dissappointed by their latest effort; Plans. It's a fine, solid record with the usual great tunes by DCFC (though the songwriting is the weakest thus far by the band). The issue is that it seems they are falling comfortablly with their style and becoming less and less outgoing and challeneging leading to them being predictable. Also, another major complaint I have in regards to this record, is the fact it has no flow. Previous DCFC material was a straight shootout listen from start to finish. I find myself skipping alot of times while listening to Plans.

As I said, this is still a rather solid record, filled with great indie pop tracks. But it feels as if the band isnt quite sure what direction it should take, resulting in an off balance record. But still worthy of picking up.

My ratings for these lads:-

Something About Airplanes 4/5
You Can Sing these Songs With Chords 4/5
We Have The Facts And We Are Voting Yes! 4.5/5
Forbidden Love EP 3/5
The Photo Album 4.25/5
Transatlanticism 4.7/5
Plans 2.5/5 - 3/5 (depending on my mood)

<3 Ben Gibbard.

Transatlanticism and The Photo Album are my favourite albums.

I like Plans, but I agree with moe's argumentation for liking it less than their previous material.

best tracks on Plans:

Marching Bands of Manhattan
Soul Meets Body
Summer Skin (great bass line)
What Sara Said

Summer Skin (great bass line)

oh god dont get me started.I friiggan love the feel to the bassline so much..The firsttime i heard it i was just like wow.It feels like I rarely here a bass playing by itself.its just so damn sexy.I want to play bass so much more than guitar.

I loved the piano in what sar said and brothers in a hotel bed. There real good parts of certain songs i just think all together its not as powerful as their past works.

Death Cab is one of my favorite bands at the moment. Transatlanticism was amazing, and why I started liking them - starting with We Looked Like Giants. Plans is actually my favorite at the moment, just so many mind blowing songs. I Will Follow You into the Dark is easily one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard, and Soul Meets Body has the ability to make me upbeat no matter what, temporarily. They have such moving and poetic lyrics, Marching Bands of Manhattan is such a vivid image, and loaded with symbolism. Their depth, their lyrics, and their soothing instrumentals just puts me in a trance sometimes.

10/10. :tem

I actually have been a fan for quite some time. I think that they peaked as a group around the Photo Album. I find the new album a bit dissapointing. Seems a though they lost their "indie" sound when they signed to Atlantic.

Head bitten off? Did I say that the album wasn't good? No. Listen to "we have the facts" and then listen to "Plans" and tell me the production value isn't a million times better. I love Death Cab, I've been listening to them for years. The first time I saw them in concert was four and a half years ago in a garage called Kilby Court. I simply enjoy Photo Album more. I think it's weird to go from watching them in a garage with 20 other kids to reading about them in Newsweek.

A while back I decided to re-watch season 1 and 2 of Six Feet Under, then caught up with the remaining seasons to finish the series. Loved it, great show and great ending. Then I listened to the two soundtracks, and on volume 2 there was a Death Cab for Cutie track called Transatlanticism which I really loved. So I listened to all their other albums and thus have become a fan. Transatlanticism is my favourite album.

And thats all.

I love Ben Gibbard. He's odd and creative but does WAY too much. Sure, he's got great stuff going on, just not all in one place and never at one time. I lament Death Cab for Cutie's inconsistency because it makes them difficult for me to listen to at times. They've got a more-than-solid catalog of music, but still...I wish Ben Gibbard would get it together sometimes because I often get the impression he just likes to screw around.

Eh, they're alright. I got over my Death Cab for Cutie stage about 3 years ago. You kinda go through a stage where you're like "Death Cab is soooooo addicting" and then after you hear some other stuff, you kinda forget about them, then they're alright.

Plus, I saw them with Franz Ferdinand almost 3 months ago, they're really boring live, especially compared to Franz. They'd be better if they were in a cafe scene kinda thing. Definately not rock concert material though.
