For the rest (1-300) http://community.livejournal.com/mangazone/67429.html (Source = http://www.bunkyodo.co.jp/)

I had a link for the sales in the U.S. for 2006, but link went down (can find working links for the years previous but not 2006), basically Fruits Basket, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Naruto are among the most popular mangas in the U.S.

Code! :D

I'm not too shocked about the stats there. But I'm pleasantly surprised that Nodame Cantabile is dominating a good portion of the top 50. I highly recommend it for those looking to get into another good series. :amuse

Hunter X Hunter at #26

Whoa, I never knew Death Note was that popular.

Well Death Note and Nana had live action movies (and Nodame Cantibile a live action series), so that'd boost it's popular a bit considering how well the live action adaptations of all three did.

We needs a Fruits Basket live action! I wonder how that would turn out. :oh

I pretty much knew this without seeing a list. Death Note pwns.

Interesting stuff. Two things really skewed it though. First, obviously the live actions (Most of those Death Note Volumes came out years ago). Secondly volumes that came out late December were included on the list. Naruto volume 36 came out like December 15th or something and it was down at 206. Obviously had it a full month or more of sales it would've been higher.

One Piece Pwnage.

Well seeing as the death note series has ended in manga I see they had to go out with a bang.

No eyeshield 21 :(

Eyeshield had multiple volumes in the top 150, I think the highest at 89.

Really surprised that Death Note basically owned the list. I liked how little known(here anyway) honey and clover was in the top. And all of One Piece released that year in the top 10, well that's a given.

What's Nana and Nodame Cantabile about? Better start reading some more Death Note.

They're both shoujos, so if you aren't into that genre, you probably won't know too much about it. Nana (more of a shoujodrama) is also by the same person who did Paradise Kiss which was also insanely popular. It got more attention in the internet fandom when the anime came out. Nodame Cantabile is more of a shoujo-comedy.
