Gaara easily...Neji couldn't even land a blow...Gaara has got his sand armor and he has got chakra coming out the ying yang....plus he is a monster. Byakugan isn't much use if you have no chance of beating an attack even knowing it is coming.

Gaara totally beats Neji. I mean Neji is awesomely cool and strong, but to get to Gaara you must have at least one of two things:
- super strength
- super speed

Neji doesn't have either.

Gaara by far. Gaara's in a whole another league than Neji, maybe even 2!^^ Neji's gifted I'll give you that, but Gaaras has shukakku and is completely ruthless. As we are now Sasuke is completely wasted, Gaara is wounded and he still isn't even slowed down while facing Naruto, Gaara's scary... Maybe if you say Team Gai vs Gaara then it would be an interesting battle but very short due to Lee and Tenten's jutsu, they take up alot of chakra fast. It would be up in the air, depending on how fast they would have to take him out. (Neji, Lee, and Tenten vs Gaara)

Neji is definitely at a disadvantage seeing that long distance battle is usually to his disadvantage, and this is the exact type of fighter Gaara is - long distance. However, don't count Neji out. He is not particularly light on his feet, but his attack speed is another story - if neji gets one hit in the whole battle could be altered. I think ultimately Gaara would have the highest chance of winning, but it could fall in favor of Neji given his inate unpredictability.

Does anyone think that he could be able to attack gaara with chakra though the sand the way he did with kiddo?:huh

it's one thing if said enemy is fast, but shukaku gaara would be easy to hit. Neji could just knock the sand body apart with jyuuken, and then finish off gaara

It seems to me that Gaara is a bit of a genius, too. Part of it is the art he seems to put into his techniques (Sand clones, Shield of Shukaku).

i dont think neji would be an easy opponent to take down, but neji specializes in taijutsu, which gaara's sand is strong against.

Gaara wins. Neji doesn't have the abilities to counter Gaara's sand usage and his close range attacks could be nullified by Gaara's sand armor.

Gaara has this simply because neji's not fast enough to get past Gaara's auto sand defense. Plus Gaara can fight from a distance which also puts neji at a disadvantage. Neji could only do his rotation for so long until he runs out of chakra. Gaara takes this.

it would be close but i can see neji winning this cause he could use his jyuken against garra's sand like he did with tht spider guy in the sound 4. after all the thing tht makes garras sand so hard is garras own chakra flowing through it 2 condense it and make it incredibly hard. disrupt the chakra flow and destroy gaaras whole fighting style. use the 64 tenketsu strike and bye bye gaara.
