Er, does Animax even dub shows in Hindi? My Dish TV connection has Animax in English-only mode.
Either way, it's going to be fun getting my friends to watch Bleach. Tried that with One Piece on CN and I got flamed.

I'd be surprised if they dubbed it. It's been a while, but I haven't seen any show on Animax dubbed in Hindi. Anyway, I don't really see what's so funny about a Hindi dub. Most English dubs are about as embarrassing as it can get.
Most Hindi dubs are pretty bad, but I have seen some good ones. Like Spongebob Squarepants.

Well, actually it depends on your cable connection whether you get Animax in english or hindi, but I think that with Dish Tv and all, its in in english.
AN ya, the DBZ dub sucked pretty bad...but the surprising thing is that they are bringing Bleach so early! and no Naruto!!

Too bad my cousins didnt have animax when I went in the summer.
Used to watch that soap kaun saas bhi bahu thi or something like that with bahu in it.
I saw some old ass stuff in dub like talesspin lol. Oh god that was horrible. They can pull it off if they can cast good voice actors otherwise itll be annoying to hear hindi from a 35 year old guy pretending to be 16.

well it is sound interesting...
but i fear that it might not be hit as animax is not as widely seen as cartoon network or disney toons...neither animax is that much popular....
i wish bleach, naruto and one piece will make appearance on cartoon ntwr .....
and about hindi dubs...well it will never make a slight a difference in India as most of viewers dont speak, understand or gonna watch English or Japanese version... so basically no comparisons.....and it will be certainly big hit if any one of them will make it on CN...
i am looking forward for naruto as CN india missed the bleach, they will certainly try for naruto or one piece....
edit- i just checked animax site...there is nothing about bleach...

yup. One Piece was on around last year in India. I heard they showed only the 1st season or something. (wasn't there myself but got information from my bro).
Animax shows FMA, Cowboy bebop, Inuyasha...so they got some good taste in anime@!
Its not been put up yet on the Animax site but you can see the ad on TV.

Wow... that's pretty cool. I remember being really shocked when Animax first hit the airwaves. An all-anime channel? In India? When it first aired there were no ads at all... except for some ultra-lame Animax promos by Irfan Pathan (lawl). What a strange, strange choice for an endorsee that was. Half the shows were total stinkers then, but they did have many good ones.
Anyway, even if One Piece made it to India, it has no chance of succeeding with the 4Kids dub.

yepp in India animation = cartoons = only for kids...
not only adults but also teenagers are not interested at all....
thats why animax is not so popular bcoz it mainly targets teenagers - not kids

Dragon Ball was aired that long ago?! Do you remember which channel? Damn, I can't believe I missed that. I remember watching the reruns in Japan though.
India has seen quite a few animes even before Animax. If you were a fan like I was, you could find it. Some animes from way back:
Ghostsweeper Mikami
Ninku
Grander Musashi
You're Under Arrest
Robotech (ah... brings back memories)
Ninja Robots (this one never made it to the West)
...and of course there were the ones on CN. Cardcaptor Sakura, DBZ, Pokemon, Digimon... etc
EDIT - Can't forget the total classic, Giant Robo!

If you appreciate dubs that have constant changes in the voice cast, overt jingoism, and unabashed disrespect for the source material, then yeah, DBZ was one heck of a dub.

Yes, Tamil (http://www.ancientscripts.com/images/tamil.gif) and Malayalam (http://www.ancientscripts.com/images/malayalam.gif) are actually very similar. The written characters look very similar, and the two languages sound similar when spoken too.

They changed crew once
First of all, no, they didn’t change just once. Secondly, if by “once” you meant one actor was changed one time, then that would be okay. However, if they change voice actors at different episodes with no rhyme of reason, then that’s a huge, HUGE problem for me. It annoyed me to no end when Kuririn’s and King Kai’s (North Kaio’s) new voice actors tried their best to imitate the previous ones. It’s not so bad when you replace VA’s whose roles require them to speak fairly normally (e.g. Goku,) but it’s a HUGE problem when you replace VA’s who have thus far doused their performances with copious amounts of idiosyncrasies which cannot be convincingly mimicked. Also, it really sucked when Freeza’a VA (who was fantastic and the only saving grace of this pathetic dub) was replaced with a far less talented VA. Not to mention several other cast changes. It blows my mind that you consider this to be a good dub. But that’s to be expected from a person who decides I’m an OPtard and reprimands me because I found bountiful hilarity in his preference of a friend’s at-VERY-best mediocre drawing over a Tezuka award winning mangaka’s work. Bravo, indeed. *thumbs up*
Disrespect? Care to explain?
I wouldn’t know where to start, so I’m just gonna c&p an extract from wikipedia which mirrors my thoughts on this issue:
“…people have taken issue with changes in the English edition that are not seen as necessary, such as extraneous dialogue not found in the original, dubbing that sways the English version in its own creative direction, the replacement of the entire original musical score, and renaming of many characters, terminology, and locations. Combined with criticized voice acting, many feel that the English version of Dragon Ball Z almost seems like an entirely different show than the original…”
I dare you to name one dub that is better? Yu Yu Hakusho is up there but not quite as good. I dare you to name a better dub ;p
Sure. There are tons of dubs that I consider to be better than DBZ, but I’ll just list the ones I consider to be very good: FLCL, Spirited Away, Mononoke Hime, Howl’s Moving Castle, You’re Under Arrest, Cowboy Bebop, Excel Saga…
Yu Yu Hakusho’s dub, while not great by any means, IMO definitely beats the DBZ dub. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t at least tickled by Christopher Sabat’s adaptation of Kuwabara.

Several voice actors
Now, what I meant was, most, if not all changed their voice actors after the Frieza saga. And to be frank, I had no problem with it, sure I missed the old Vegeta voice, but the new one is better suited for later purposes.
But that’s to be expected from a person who decides I’m an OPtard and reprimands me because I found bountiful hilarity in his preference of a friend’s at-VERY-best mediocre drawing over a Tezuka award winning mangaka’s work. Bravo, indeed. *thumbs up*
I have to be honest, she was 13 at the time and she drew it without having any picture to look at. I preferr that art style more than the OP one, where they include Pinnochio -.-
I wouldn’t know where to start, so I’m just gonna c&p an extract from wikipedia which mirrors my thoughts on this issue:

I've always said that most dubs shouldn't be allowed (Like Naruto which I simply can't stand, no offense VA's) But DBZ on the other hand, has so much influence and life in them that they are simply more enjoyable to watch. And besides, the original DBZ had high-pitches voices, which wasn't to my liking.
Sure. There are tons of dubs that I consider to be better than DBZ, but I’ll just list the ones I consider to be very good: FLCL, Spirited Away, Mononoke Hime, Howl’s Moving Castle, You’re Under Arrest, Cowboy Bebop, Excel Saga…
