Yondaime was praised as the strongest ninja ever, stronger even than Sarutobi, and Kakashi believes that only Naruto will ever surpass him.

Coupled with the fact that he stood up to the Kyuubi and managed to seal it, I say Yondaime is easily far stronger than Jiraiya.

Look Sar picked Oro for hokage first and Jiraiya before him. Why?
Because at that point in time we can see, as well as from Oro's comments, that Oro was actually stronger! And get this Oro hadn't even hit his peak yet, and neither had Jiraiya.

And of course neither did Minato. Because he died too damn young. Did he have the potential to be the strongest damn shinobi ever ? Probably, but he died too damn young. Hell even Jiraiya died too young; he hadn't even fully mastered hermit Mode and he hadn't gotten a bit of Tsunade pie but still at the times of their death Jiraiya would have taken it.

Also at that point Jiraiya knew everything there is to know about Minato and his Harashin so he would have done anything under the sun to make sure that he didn't put the seal on him. While on the other hand Minato probably would never have seen or heard ( the genjutsu. get it ? get it ? ) HM before.

In my opinion, Jiraiya's either going to lose or is just going to have to settle with a draw. That Death Sealing technique is a pretty broken Jutsu, and with the FTG at his disposal, it shouldn't be too hard for the Fourth to land it.

Yondaime cannot lose. I'm serious about that. The best you can hope for is a draw, with the sealing jutsu. And getting in close range isn't a problem. He fought the Gigantic kyuubi, that's 9 attacks you gotta watch out for all at once.

Yondie wins, without going death god here, however.
