Sorry for the short downtime (no way around *g*). Since we get more and more traffic, we needed to update the RAM.

At least a 100 Mbps connection I think...

Well, it is a Dell 1850 => 4x2,8 Xeon, 4 GB (finally) RAM, Ultra Wide SCSI 73 GB Raid 1 Server using a 100mbit line (what else *g* ?).

And it looks like the RAM Update was a realllly good idead.

yeah but its a shame the site does go down so oftne, i mean, you guys must rake it in with donations, so should this stuff really happen?

then again, i suppose when so many people are going on and pressing refresh for the latest chapter and of course in the BECK FC *points at sig* its to be expected

why dont you just go all out and blow a stack on more servers/ram?

:eyeroll The forums are not supported through donations, as we don't ask for them on this site, and even if they were and we were "raking it in" every server has the same SQL and Apache limits no matter how powerful of a server you have, and ours is amazingly powerful :laugh

lol, i didnt meant to sound ungrateful, but i just reread my post and it sounded like i was :P

why not use some of the donation money for the forums? its part of the site so i doubnt there could be any complaints worth listening to.

and dont lie...you are raking it in.......lol

Very few complaints are worth listening to. I don't remember the last time I heard one actually. But nonetheless it is true, apache has a maximum of 255 connections and SQL can easily get maxed out and cause great stress to any server. It has nothing to do with the quality of the server, although the RAM did certainly speed things up.
