Then lets look at the manga facts...

1. First Encounter - Sasuke drops Sai to his knees just by looking at him and the boy with no feelings feels fear.

2. Second Encounter - Sai gets Sasuke wrapped up with an (ha) Ink Snake when Sasuke is fricken SLEEPING and Sasuke wakes up and blows the place apart and once again knocks Sai to his knees.

2. Third Encounter - Sai stops an attack, although Sasuke didn't have his sharingan on, and Sasuke complements him on his choice of defence then fricken sends him back to the ground for a 3rd time with his Chidori Nagashi-sp? where Sai lays throughout the rest of the fight.

Sasuke brought Sai to his knee from a simple sharigan genjutsu.
Just add in Sasuke using his speed to move over to Sai, neutralizing any weird ink counter with chidori current, and slicing Sai apart with his sword. There you go.

Hell, he doesn´t even need to fight. Sai would be too busing drolling and sketching him to care about any fighting.

We really don't know the extent to which sai's techniques can go. I do believe that chidori nagashi could act as a disadvantage against sai if he tries to trap him. However, Sai seemed pretty strong. I mean sasuke's dojutsu caught him at unawares, but he was fast enough to stop sasuke can stabbing naruto from a distance and he seemed unaffected by sasuke's jutsu that destroyed the room at the beginning. Moreover, Sai can fly :D. and the amount of creatures he can create seemed pretty unlimited.

My conclusion is, we don't know enough about both characters to decide the outcome.

i voted for sasuke but changed my opinion right afterwards. and here is why

Sai is a ninja whose jobs is to kill ninjas. he knew there would be a sharingan involved as well as the fact that oro would be there. we can assume he had something especially for sasuke as no one from konoha would willingly take on a uchiha one on one(though sai is not supposed to have a will)

i remember something about sai being the strongest in his generation. i can assume this means that his general ninja skills will be on par with sasukes. i bet his gay clothes are just a front. sasuke lowers his guard doesnt use cs or sharingan while sai plays the fool and gets knocked on his ass a few times. sasuke procedes to laugh and stuff then boom he is dead before he can pull out his tricks.

im sure that genjutsu had no real effect on sai, i believe he would have tons of genjutsu training especially for this mission.

anyway this is all specualtion and i believe sasugay all out takes sai easily but i also know that sai will do his best not let him go all out. thats my two cents y'all

I think it's funny that most of the time Sai encounters Sasuke he ends up on his knees. If they didn't end up randomly making out, Sasuke would win. He has the SoK, Chidori Nagashi, regular Chidori (he's way faster now so it would be a better move) and the Mystery Jutsu. Sai has... a sketchbook. He wouldn't have time to even get an outline drawn. And even if he did, what of it? Lions and Tigers and Bears oh my!

Unless he drew a pic of Kyuubi... oh wait, Sasuke can just supress his chakra. Guess that kills all of his options doesn't it?
