Gaara wont stand there while Naruto rushes him , he can kindof fly in the air or just fire sand at Naruto.
Yeah, Raengan may be able to do something to Gaara's sand but that only the sand infront of him. Example:
-Gaara throws a mass of Sand around KN3 Naruto.
-Naruto fires off Rasengan
-Gaara's Sand is destroyed and Naruto attempts to slice Gaara's face.
-Naruto is stopped short because he is being hung by sand.
-Naruto slowly dies.
Gaara has fully control of his sand which means he doesnt have to fire straight attacks.

But this battle really depends on how far away they start off. If Gaara has no breathing room, he dies.

In a straight fight, Naruto cant beat Gaara. The fight they had was BS

Gaara's durability with the sand would not save him one bit, even being in the desert does not change his chances against a tailed Naruto in Part 2.

This is what One-Tailed Naruto did to Orochimaru in Part 2, without trying. Image that and factor his strength and speed by three fold. Gaara does not stand a chance.

Naruto's speed, durability and strength are far too broken in that state.

I think People are missing the point... Remember, when Naruto is in Kyuubi form he can move up to amazing speeds, probably more than Lee did when they were younger. Gaara wouldn't see the hits and blows coming and eventually get beaten.
