From reading I think sai is rather mean and horroble and insults people. However, he did have concern for Ino when he called her pretty instead of ugly because sakura didn't like being called ugly and he learned from that. But sakura STILL wasn't satisfied, "what do you think you're doing bitch, if was your fault he decided to call ino pretty in the first place because you threw a fit when he called you a hag", what is their obsessive rivalry anywhere does it really look like sasuke will like ino any time soon? No. so why does she care whether ino's pretty or not.

Sai interested me the first time he was introduced. Yeah, his choice of clothes wasn't that great but hey, he's in Root and they seem to maniuplate every aspect of their member's decisions, so I can accept that. Though some criticized he developed fast, I like how a guy with no emotions and attachments changed to a guy willing to defend Naruto and protect his bond with Sasuke. I can't wait to see more of him and when he gets into a serious fight.

I love Sai! The manga was dragging for a while and I can say that his introduction did peak my interest quite a bit. I love his attitude and the amount of attention Kishimoto will have to put towards his character development...unless he kills him off, that would make me super sad face yo. And I think the relationship between the new team is very interesting...it makes me wish Kishi would write more interaction between them...Akatsuki is so dull right now nothing about them interests me...I think I keep reading in hopes of seeing more team 8 and Sai...

I think that... until he chickened out of his mission because of some words that Naruto spoke.

That Sai was more of a Ninja than almost anyone (besides the Jounin,and maybe some of the Chunin... and of course the Hokage) that we have seen in the village.

He is everything that the little kiddies should be if they wanted to make it to the top in the ninja world. And I doubt he would turn on the person who hired him for a mission because he thinks it's the right thing to do.

Then Naruto talked about friendship and all that stuff (I think this is reoccurant in Shonen Manga) and Sai turns from the potentially ruthless killer that he should be, to a useless and brutally efficient neophyte like the rest of them.

I am still waiting for the episode where Naruto is ordered to Massacre a completely innocent family. Oh yeah, and Kudo's to the one where they were all like.

I can say that for a pretty long time, I hated Sai. He was the only character I /ever/ disliked. (Not including filler)
After he got on the goodside I kind of labeled him as the guy you love to hate. His gayness and penis jokes did make me laugh after I told myself he's ok with me.

I don't love him though. When he smiles for real it is REALLy cute, haha. xD But:
