Hey Everyone. So this is the trial tournament. Real tournament will start soon after this. So observe, vote, and give any input on how to better the tournament for the real one. Thanks!

THE MATCHES AND SETTINGS WERE CHOSEN AT RANDOM BY MY GF.

Setting For Round 1 - Forest of Death (Chuunin Exams)
Tournament Rules

1. Vote on the clear victor and it is recommended you state why they would in.
2. Only 1 vote allowed. If later you are persuaded by someone and choose to vote for the other team, then only that vote will count.
3. No Plot No Jutsu. (Naruto doesn’t defeat Kakuzu, Sasori, and everyone just because Kishimoto won’t let him die.)
4. No filler jutsu’s.
5. No Giant or Boss summons except for Enma (Sarutobi) and Pakkun (Kakashi).
6. KWGoD, Aoba, and the Gai hype (Chuck Norris type hype) not allowed. Otherwise, one could have all 3 on their team and own EVERYONE. Please try and be serious and just go off their skills
7. Experience of fighting WITH or AGAINST ninja's are in play. (I.E. if you choose Kiba-Shino-Hinata, they may work better since they are a team and know eachother's strengths and weaknesses. Or... Kakuzu will know to fight Hidan from a great distance since he doesn't want his blood drawn, and because they are partners. Hidan will have an advantage of characters who don't know of his ability). EXPERIENCE IS ONLY IN AFFECT FROM CHAPTER 341AND BEFORE.

Damn, this one will take some thought. The Kazekage Gaara's team has a disadvantage in that all three of its members are fodder for Kage Mane (all three are fairly still characters). A moment of being bound is going to be enough to secure the deaths of Neji and Temari, but Kazekage Gaara won't die easily. I need to ponder just what Hidan's team can do to actually harm Gaara, and whether or not Dosu is going to be able to deal with a Gaara who can't move… hmm. Common sense? Sound jutsu works against Gaara. Appreciation of skill levels? Yeah…

This will need way more thought. I'm not voting yet.

Kazekage Gaara and Temari are long range rapage that the other team can't get close to. Even if one manages to get close (I don't see how they would), Neji can use 64 strikes.

Shikamaru is mid-range (even in a forest, Temari has shown to have more range), Dosu is short range (his sounds don't seem to have long range like Zaku's did), and Hidan has no real range that can't be dealt with easily.

Gaara is the only one who has any ranged power, but the Kazekage Gaara is more than enough to deal with pre-skip Gaara and defend his teammates from anyone trying to get close.

Temari is backup on this ranged assault: even if Dosu's sounds can travel far, she can blow them away, and can blow away anything Hidan throws at them. Neji has Kaiten to deflect anything long range as well.

Shikamaru will never get close enough to be able to pull anything off, and if he does, trapping Gaara does no good (as shown in early anime episodes). If he traps Temari, Gaara saves her, if he traps Neji, either Temari or Gaara can save him.

I don't see any way that pre-skip Gaara will survive Kazekage Gaara. Once he's gone, the rest of the other team is basically helpless. Even if Hidan cannot be killed, Gaara can immobilize him easily, and many of several things can be done to disable Hidan:

1. Neji hits his tenketsu. No chakra, no ritual, right? (I'm not a manga reader, so tell me if I'm wrong here)
2. Temari uses Kuychiose(sp?) Kiri Kiri Mai [flying weasel summon] and decapitates Hidan.
3. Gaara rips him apart and buries his different body parts in different places.

This is all assuming that team successortt is ONLY allowing Gaara vs Gaara to go on in the beginning, while just fending off the others. If anything, Temari would be dealing with Dosu and Shikamaru easily. I already explained how Shikamaru's Kage Mane is basically useless, as the ranged characters can cover each other. Also, Gaara doesn't even have to hit Shikamaru, he can simply use sand to block the shadow's path.

But, assuming Orga is getting it easy and only getting picked off 1 by 1, and this point Kazekage Gaara is freed up from fighting his younger self, and can easily destroy the rest of them.

I'm not gonna vote yet. I could possibly be convinced by the other side.

You do know Gaara can fly right?, and no one on the opposing team has any long range attacks that could possibly affect Gaara. The pre chunnin exam gaara can't fly from what I know.

Dosu has no way of getting to gaara. but if he could his sound attacks probably could affect him.

Gaara doesn't have to be wanton in his destruction, he can be very precise if he chooses to be. All he has to do is aim for the enemy's Gaara and take him out. Considering he would be stronger, he could lend a little bit of attention (possibly), to prevent the other team from getting close, but I think Temari could probably do it on her own.

Also, Temari can cut down a lot of trees, as demonstrated in the sasuke retrieval arc, removing a lot of Shikamaru's advantage.

Well, if Gaara can take this by himself he can just lift the rest of his team in the air as he did with lee in sasuke's arc.

You are right, it can be evaded, but Gaara has tricks. If he uses sand to attack, and the opponent dodges, causing the sand to hit the ground, he can create more sand underground (without them knowing), and grab them from beneath. I don't see how that could be seen coming and dodged very easily at all.

As for Shika, you have me there. I don't really read the manga, I just happen to have read spoilers (mostly by mistake), so my information on time-skip characters is not 100% complete. I didn't know he could do that, so yeah, levelling the forest wouldn't really change that. I still only think it would take a little bit of sand to release Temari from a bind though, he simply has to block the path of whatever is binding her, or break it (or simply attack Shikamaru).

Shikamaru has already proven how superior he is to Temari. With all the new abilities he got in the Post Skip, he will totally demolish her now. Neji is definitly a close range fighter, and he will be absolutly manhandled by either Shika or Hidan, hell even Gaara for that matter. Dosu is a good distraction for this fight with his sound attacks, especially with Shikamaru on the team. He can hold someone down and Dosu can come in and totally knock them on their ass with his Sound Attacks. So Neji is definitly fodder against most of my team, and Temari is not that much more of a threat with Shika and Gaara here... The challenge is Kazekage Gaara....

None of them have the brute force or the abilties to bring him down by themselves. Luckily, in a forest, he has less advantages unlike my team which has a huge advantage in feild. My Gaara or Hidan would be able to distract him long enough for Shika and Hidan/Gaara (which ever isn't fightng Kage Gaara) to bring down Temari and Neji. Of course unless it is Hidan who is fighting Kazekage Gaara, there is a chance that the other will not LIVE at the end of it. Shikamaru is definitly needed to bring down Gaara since he has to hold him down. Dosu is also important since his sound attacks will be most effective to go around Gaara's sand. So if Dosu is kept in reserve while the others fight (which Shika would be able to easily figure out) then my team has a chance. Going by that, I think my team can probably win 6/10 times because Shikamaru can analyze the situation really quickly and get a very effective strategy going really fast. Of course without him my team would fail instantly, which is how I get the 6/10. With that, I can give my team the vote.

Both the coccon and the water prisom are still PHYSICAL types of attacks. A shadow is NOT a physical thing. from your body from light. It is NOT the same thing. And he will not be able to do any movement without Shika giving it to him. He had a level of freedom in the cocoon. Besides, the Water Prison is post skip anyway.

Neji has 360 degree vision, and can do the kaiten quite a few times. I don't even know how many times he did it while fighting that spider guy. Neji isn't exactly slow, can dodge nearly anything, and has perfect defense (except for one blind spot that only Shika would be able to figure out).

Maybe he could get his blood, eventually. But, by that time, Temari, Gaara, or even Neji himself could have disabled him. Temari by decapitation (did you see what she did to the forest?), Gaara by crushing, or Neji by chakra disablement.

I'm still curious, if Neji closed one of Hidan's tenketsu if he could perform the ritual? If he couldn't perform the ritual, Hidan is not a non-factor, but a lot of his potential is taken away..

If Temari were to level a whole forest, she doesn't have to fly up FIRST, it can be done on ground level and then Gaara can lift his team into the air (assuming this strategy is taken).

Lastly, Dosu is a non-factor as long as Temari is alive and kicking.. especially considering he has shown NO long range capability (so Temari wouldn't even be needed), but has only shown that his sound can move a few feet at most.

Dosu is a factor for that. Neji may know where he is, but that doesn't mean Neji will have time to tell the rest of his team before he gets killed by someone. His sound can still go around his sand, and with Gaara binded and distracted, he will not kill Dosu in time. THAT will result in a KO.

Neji's defense has been said to be better than Gaara's during the chunnin exam against Naruto. How do you expect Hidan to get any blood. Secondly, Neji of SRA could beat gaara pre- chunnin exam. Neji's abilities allow him to cut threw gaaras sand shield. So in other words Neji does'nt need to go around the sand shield he can go threw it.

Dosu is a factor for that. Neji may know where he is, but that doesn't mean Neji will have time to tell the rest of his team before he gets killed by someone. His sound can still go around his sand, and with Gaara binded and distracted, he will not kill Dosu in time. THAT will result in a KO.

Nah, Shika is not Neji fast, but he doesn't have to be Neji fast in order to fight faster opponenets. He has his intellect and his shadows to take people down.

You must also take into account that you probably have the dumbest ninja in the naruto-verse on your team Hidan. Hidan maybe faster than ninja, only because of pure level, but Neji would definatley outsmart him if they fought. Not that Neji will be doing anything in this fight anyways

Neji let NARUTO hit him. And Naruto is FAR from a genius. So I don't buy what you are saying that Hidan won't hit him. Obviously having 360 vision is overrated since he obviously got his ass kicked by Naruto Pre Skip. And Naruto is NOT Hidan's level in the slightest.

Neji's defense has been said to be better than Gaara's during the chunnin exam against Naruto. How do you expect Hidan to get any blood. Secondly, Neji of SRA could beat gaara pre- chunnin exam. Gaara's sand from the gourd is not exactly endless. If he uses some to protect other members of his team, it can leave an opening for Hidan to sneak in with his spear.
