Greatest Akatsuki Team (of all time)

Akatsuki members usually work in teams of two. Teams are built to complement each other's abilities and talents to create a formidable duo. For example, Hidan and Kakuzu both use their immortality to their advantage by using attacks that indiscriminately destroy everything in their path.

Each member thus far has shown at least a working loyalty to each other and their mysterious leader, and they have excellent working relationships. On a personal level, however, many of the team members exhibit outright animosity towards one another, though they do not let it get in the way of their missions.

The contestants are put together like so:

1. Sasori and Orochimaru
2. Deidara and Sasori
3. Deidara and Tobi
4. Hidan and Kakuzu
5. Itachi and Kisame

1. I'm not too sure how they would work as a team. But if Orochimaru summoned Manda plus a few edo tenseis, and with Sasori using all his puppets they could overpower nearly anyone in sheer numbers and skill.

2. Deidara can use his puppets (most of which are expendable) to distract and surround the enemy while Deidara readies explosives to finish them off if they aren't somehow done in by poison.

5. Itachi is aruably the most powerful ninja one on one, with Kisame having the most chakra in the Akatsuki. Itachi seems to have water type moves to complement his team mate. If Kisame traps an enemy in a water prison, then they're as good as dead if Itachi uses his MS. (maybe?)

The teams are put against each other. Going all out, bloodlusted, fully rested and at 100% strength. They also have knowledge of each others abilities.

Which team can beat the others and get the title of 'The Greatest'?

I dunno. I think Itachi and Kisame would be able to win, I mean Itachi only ran away because he was tired after using MS twice. And from that time with the 30% Chakra clones(note: they are exact clones and have the techniques the 'user' has.) couldn't/wouldn't do one MS which means it takes out between 20-35% of his chakra.

But contrary to what I just said, Hidan and Kakuzu probably got it. I mean they're basically immortal and no one has any prep time like Shikamaru to place the explosive tags everywhere for Hidan. Kakuzu just owns when not up against something which is able to destroy everything.

1. Sasori and OrochimaruI think Sasori is one of the best Akatsuki we have seen. Hundreds of attacks at the same time, and even 1 would kill you. Plus he has an incredible defence since he has so many shells and fake bodies. Then you add Oro to that, someone who I think is by far better than any individual Akatsuki overall. (sure he might fear Itachi, but that is a rock/paper thing)

I would go with Itachi and Kisame.

Unfortunately we haven't seen their full power, but 30% fakes impressed me a lot. In that case I can assume their full abilities are just amazing.Incredible raw power, draining chakra sword and powerfull suiton jutsus of Kisame combined with unusual speed, MS of Itachi make a a considerable mess.

Furthermore no one can beat them because they always can run away xD

After that, Kakuzu/Hidan has been the best we've seen. Even though they got handled, like Sasori did. I don't think the Akatsuki have been getting any respect from the manga. :cry

Obviously Sasori + Orochimaru = PWN. Both have killed the most powerful living ninja at the time. Orochimaru technically defeated the Sandaime Hokage, and Sasori killed the Sandaime Kazekage, who was considered to be the most powerful Kazekage ever.

I have to say Akasuna no Sasori and Orochimaru, as much credit as I give Uchiha Itachi. I want to discuss why but the sheer enormity of the question is making me flounder a little: there are so many variables involved here and far too many unknowns. Ultimately I have to go with the instinct that Sasori and Orochimaru are the second and third most powerful shinobi in this battle royale and can overcome even the most powerful and the sixth (Uchiha Itachi and Hoshigaki Kisame).

But really, it's all just assumptions and instincts at the moment. Perhaps I'll discuss a little more once this thread gets going.

1. Sasori & Orochimaru have power in numbers. 100 puppets + snake summon spamming could be deadly even to someone who has S-class widespread jutsu, or an awesome defense, like Kakuzu or Gaara. Oro doesn't have to summon snakes either, he can just help Sasori corner an enemy, because 1 hit is death.

2. Deidara & Sasori is pretty good too, both have mass destructive techniques, and a pretty good team dynamic. It's also pretty hard to get to either of them, due to Dei's flying and Sasori's puppet army. Only possible problem is that clay bombs explode some puppets.

3. I'm going to refrain from commenting on this one, since I don't know anything about Tobi's skills.

4. Hidan and Kakuzu have a powerful commonality, the ability to survive. It's extremely difficult to kill (or in Hidan's case, render useless) either of them. Kakuzu's jutsu's have to be avoided because of their power, and 1 drop of blood can lose the match because of Hidan. A problem here is that Kakuzu is the long range power, because Hidan is basically useless in a long ranged fight. If Kakuzu runs out of chakra, the opponent is safe at a distance from this pair (though that doesn't make them any easier to kill).

5. Kisame's ability to create water and use water jutsu goes well with Itachi's explosive water clones and water jutsu, so they have a pretty powerful Suiton attack going. Since Kisame has an incredible amount of chakra, I'd imagine him as the main attacker in a team battle. Water jutsu + Samehada is a strong offense to keep the opponents busy, and Itachi to nail them at the right moment with either of his Mangekyo(sp?) techniques.

I'd say either team 1 or 5 is the strongest.

I think to synch with Sasori's puppets, Orochimaru's techniques [snake summons] go a lot better than Deidara's [bombs], and I don't see team 2 beating Kisame's insane amount of chakra stamina and Suiton attacks / defense.

Team 4 is also rendered somewhat useless against range, because they have to rely on Kakuzu, and I doubt his chakra can keep up with Kisame. I also don't think he can take out Sasori's puppet army by himself (even if it were a close ranged battle, Hidan wouldn't be that helpful in puppet destruction), not to mention multiple huge snakes or manda.

I don't know who I would choose in 1 vs 5, though Itachi would have stamina trouble dealing with Sasori, I think its reasonable to believe that Mangekyo would be a factor in this match.

Well, although he is virtually immortal and has an easy one hit kill move, Hidan is a piece of shit if you already know his technique, which all the members of Akatsuki do.This means that all the other participants in this fight would make sure to kill him first so that by the off chance he doesn't get any of their blood. Itachi would be able to lure him in with some of his superb kage bunshin strategies and put an exploding seal on him. He may not die but he is pretty useless since he is in a pieces. Then kakuzu, although he is strong can easily be pwned by Itachi since his sheer number of hearts doesn't matter when he is tsukuyomied to death. This leaves Dei and Sasori, Dei and Tobi, Sasori and Oro and Itachi and Kisame. At this Point Itachi would probably use genjutsu and taijutsu to save chakra for crucial moments while kisame could use some explosive jutsus since he has such a large supply of chakra.I think there isn't much way that anyother team but Itachi and kisame could win.
