Download some new fonts, and look at some other sigs to get inspiration, the font is almost as important as the picture, some say.

Yes, CTM, you are quite the correct... A good font choice/placement/blending is essential in good design. T'is why i focus on text a bit... Blending options is godly for text.

imo, peache's sig is really good......really well done, and i also like Rachel's and N@Sc's sigs too, and ur also MoE and BoD......but all of them are really good :), mine is pure simple :D

Because most ppl just use 2 stroke borders, 1 stroke border,...
It is a requirement on a gfx piece, but not something you can rate or award =/ Its not really gfx. When I was a judge and I had to fill in who had the best border, I just didnt knew how to choose =/ Even transparent sigs have the same border, if you would award it the best border would be wrong, you should give that a best layout award or something.

Well some people do have different borders....I didn't know how to make a 3 px border for the longest time.. but whatever....

I just skimmed the SOTW thread and theres lots of different borders 1's 2's 3s and different colors borders...

Peach, you're right, you don't have to think when judging the way you are now... Thats why the wrong people have been getting votes.. All on popularity. It's bs. The old way is good because you actually have to look at all the banners and see what features stand out, thus, could change your vote. pwnt.

seriously... sotw is just for fun... nothing serious and you're making a big deal out of nothing. Benny you don't own me, Sotw was created by me and helped by the judges and it should be them making decision.

Even if you change the way to vote, you won't change for who they vote.

The SOTW is fine the way it is.
