Then Naruto probably wouldn't be nearly as strong by now because wanting to bring Sasgay back is what's been motivating him to this point, and we would have missed some damn good action. 1-Naruto would not have gotten this strong this fast and probably wouldn't have trained with Jiraiya, or mastered FRS, and in the end his chances of becoming Kage would've dropped.

oh for me, sasuke will cover his eyes, he train like crazy, ignore naruto and sakura, kakashi and other, even in team 7 mission he just let naruto or sakura get the spot light, he only move if it is really bad situation
and when it comes to mission to capture akatsuki, sasuke will depart right away and mostly alone
or if sasuke must join a team in mission to capture akatsuki, then if the target not itachi, he still doing team work, but when it comes to itachi, he do anything to stop his team member who try to disturb his fight
and that is when release the cover and use his sharingan

1. There wouldn't be so many Naru/Saku extremist going around.

2. The plot would be WAY different.

3. I don't think Sakura would've ask/demend Tsunade to become her student.

4. Sasuke would look for other ways to get power.

If he didn't go to Oro on his own, the Sound Five would have got sick of waiting at the edge of the village for him and they would have rolled into town and started some shit. They would have fought as a group, and probably got F'ed up way quicker because there would be more leaf-nin to help fight 'em. Oro would have had to come up with a new plan to get Sasuke, or the CS would just kill him outright. His rage would grow as Naruto continued to 1-up him at every turn. (Saving him during the Gaara fight, doing more damage to that water tank when Kakashi split them up, etc.) and he would end up fighting him again and Kakashi would have to use harsher diciplinary measures (1000 years of pain again and again?)

If he did stay, there would still be problems for the cast to deal with so the Part II would still go on. The Akatsuki and Orochimaru would still be quite a problem. I think Naruto would still leave with Jaria on the training and would probably be just as strong as he would if Sasuke didn't leave because he will always have the want to be respected to motivate him.

I don't know how powerful Sasuke is after the time arc as the anime has just barely introduced Sai, but I get the impression that it is going to Orochimaru that Orochimaru gave him training and power he never would have been able to recieve at the Leaf village. He would have come out quite a bit weaker than he would have if he did in fact go to Orochimaru. Especially after the mind bending Itachi gave him, I don't see him being particularly happy. I think after a while he probably would have got tired of the anguish then left Konoha for whatever chance for a powerup came around, or slowly let it turn him insane.

Rescue Gaara story really had nothing to do with Sasuke's departure, so that at least would have occured either way. The only difference is that Sasuke would have gone along with them.

Sakura would not have grown the way she did and probably still wouldn't be much of a ninja.

Sasuke could have developed very differently. It depends on if he willingly stayed or if he were forced to do so. If he was forced, Team 7 would just fall apart and eventually Sasuke would still go off on his own because he would want to take his own path in life, perhaps go after Itachi again. If Sasuke willingly stayed back then I can only assume the reason was because he acknowledged the importance of his bonds to himself and wants to protect them. Together with his teammates they will push themselves together and learn to work as a unit. But being who they are, Sasuke and Naruto would still get into fights all the time, but they would be close.

Orochimaru might still try to go after Konoha for the sharingan.
But before that he would have to use another body. Hm, wonder who he would use. I guess he could have another round of prisoners with a battle royale. Heck, Orochimaru might still be alive if he didn't get Sasuke. That is just much too amusing. Orochimaru could have ended up with a fight against Deidara instead, considering Akatsuki still wants his head and I still see Sasori dying especially if Sasuke is there. Although, Sasuke being there might overshadow Sakura's role in that fight.

The the story line would have gotten boring. Plus, if Sasuke never went to Orochimaru...Orochimaru would have never gotten killed by sasuke, and team hebi would have never formed. So in the end...Sasuke leaving made for a good story arc.:amuse.

Well there can be alot of possibilities that could have happened if Sasuke never went to Orochimaru though it really all depends if you mean that Sasuke never had the intention to go in the first place or if he was successfully captured in the Valley of the end before he could meet up with him. For the former the most logical reason would be that Naruto and his friends would have never ended up embarking on that mission to get him back in the first place. Sasuke would have probably ended up asking Kakashi of all people to help him train more and more as he realized that he wasn't the only none who shared the burden of having everyone close to you killed off while you were young. Though this outcome does have some negative effects as well as people like Sakura wouldn't have that resolve which was shown in the end of part 1 where she decided to change and help Naruto bring back Sasuke together as she would have still taken the role of the damsel in distress/cheer leader in the background. As for the latter situation, Sasuke would of course get angry at Naruto at all people for successfully bringing him back to the village thus punching another hole in Sasuke's ego as that would have probably been the final straw to Sasuke that Naruto is indeed stronger than him and because of that he would distant himself from everyone else in the village as he would constantly train harder and harder while in seclusion to get stronger without any distractions from the outside world, though I wouldn't count out the fact that he might try another attempt to get the power he lustfully wants from Orochimaru.
