I'm not saying that Deidara's not a guy... just that if you couldn't tell from the manga, using the anime voice to prove it doesn't help as much as you'd like. Unless anime fillers are canon now.

When I first saw Deidara I thought "Oooh cool, a female Akatsuki member!" but then later I realized he is a guy. Oh well, as long as BH doesn't let me down I'll be cool. I've never actually thought Deidara resembled a female.

Deidara is androgynous, though not to the extent where I'd suspect he's smuggling Kotex under his robe. His level of androgyny is a notch above Uchiha Itachi's, in my opinion; they're both what you'd refer to as "pretty boys," yet their masculinity shines through, in my eyes. On the other hand, I'm aware of Haku's gender as well (kick between the legs...), though I'm also conscious of Kishimoto basically devising a male character unto a female's frame and psyche. I can accept the fact that he is a male (my canon doesn't compare with Kish's), but I can't dupe myself into thinking he looks like a male.

I first thought he was a girl. O: I eventually went on to thinking he was a boy (Deidei-kun is equally cute IMO).

But in the manga he refers to himself using masculine pronouns (I think?) and the anime gave him a sexy man voice, so...yeah. XD He's definitely a boy and I like him that way.
