Saddest Moment?

Has there been a moment in Naruto which made made you sad? Possible at the brink of sharing the same emotions as the character, maybe even crying?

I think the saddest moment was probably one of the firsts, Haku's death and when Naruto gave the speech to Zabuza than Zabuza told Naruto to be quiet and cried himself. Seeing a person such as Zabuza to lose a person he thought he treated like a tool die it had hit him hard.

The death of Zabuza & Haku really got to me.

Naruto's speech to Zabuza and Zabuza dying by Haku's side nearly had me in tears when I saw it animated. The music and snow metaphor really helped.

That said, Naruto has many touching moments. It's one of the reasons it's my favorite manga. :D

The flashbacks which show a very sad and lonely 6 year old Naruto surrounded by the villagers who hate him. He's so young and innocent, yet is unable to understand why everyone hates him. So he stands there crying wishing there was someone to love him, but nobody does. That feeling of loneliness, trapped in the darkness, that always feels the saddest. It always makes me both sad and angry that there is nobody there to give him a hug or comfort him.

Lee's depression after learning that he only had a 50% chance to survive the surgery that would repair his injuries. Maybe I'm just weird, but this was actually the only moment in the series when I really cried (tears rolled down my cheeks, and I even had to pause the episode for a little bit even though I had read the manga already :cry )

There were no specific moments for me that stood out above the others. Out of the flashbacks, only Gaara's really felt like a punch to the gut.

As for other moments, Gai and Lee had a nice moment at the end of Lee's match with Gaara, as well as later on when they were talking about the surgery.

Then... Naruto and Sasuke, right after they do the Chidori vs. Rasengan for the final time, and it shows the quick scene of them kind of holding hands? That was another strong one for me, especially reading it in the manga.

And, of course, Haku and Zabuza's deaths.

The death of the third Hokage. OMG...it was the most amazing episode of Naruto I've ever seen. True, 3rd-sama couldn't kill Orochimaru, but he owned the shit out of him in a way no one could ever have anticipated (without a spoiler guide. :P). I was seriously in tears watching 3rd-sama's awesome death. I mean...he clearly won the fight. You could see the almost-gloating expression on his face as he died so damn honorably for his little hidden village of Konoha. That was some serious ownage right there, thwarting the destruction of Konoha and all.

Gaara's childhood was also very tear-jerking.

ano there are quite a few moments for me ^^;. The land of the waves arc itself was pretty sad since Haku died and he really cared for Zabuza and Sasuke almost dying since he saved naruto and Sakura crying over him...Drama throughout the whole thing! Then the sandaime died and that made me teary eyed. Tsunade talking about her brother and Dan made me cry and when she said she would bet her own life for Naruto. Basically any moment where someone is seen crying i'm crying as well ^^;.

Urgh there are so many moments to choose from but my saddest moment i think is when Sasuke left Konoha and the team 7 reunion T.T. I remember when Sasuke left i had to go get a box of tissues for both the manga and the anime although i think i cried more during the anime ^^;.

gaara death After commiting suicide. or so called, "The Ultimate Form of Art.....with a bang." Deidara caused a major explodison and almost killed everyone. They were saved by Kakashi when he sent the explodison to another demension, but draining all his charka. Naruto found that Garra was already dead, and was very hurt. He blamed Chiyo for all of Gaara's pain. Chiyo felt that she did wrong to but the 'one tailed beast's' spirit into Gaara's body, so she tried to revive Gaara. She found out she didn't have enough charka, and when Naruto found out what Chiyo was doing, he gave her some of his charka. During that time, Chiyo told Naruto to help Gaara and to become a Hokage that was never before. When Naruto heard, "You're the only one that can help and understand Garra," he reached deep into Gaara's heart and told him to wake up. When Gaara woke up, he saw alot of Suna village's shinobi around him. Naruto said, "Look, Gaara, at how many people came to save you!" That was really touching... it made me cry....

I get upset at a lot of anime. But I only cried during a couple of these.

When at the very end of part I, when Sasuke leaves, hadn't actually seen/read it, so I had a scene in my mind. They were in a barren desert, and Naruto was beaten nearly to death, he was begging for Sasuke not to go, with tears in his eyes, on his knees. Sasuke was smiling, and saying that he didn't need him, Team 7, or Konoha anymore. And Naruto just passes out, still crying, and Sasuke walks away laughing.

Because I make AMVs, I was going through episode 19 trying to find the scene when Naruto cries and throws the kunai to Zabuza. I found it, almost wanting to watch that whole scene with Zabuza and Haku. (I tend to do that a lot - looking for particular scenes for video production, but end up watching the whole episode.) Although, I was using the RAW and it had no sound. So, I just continued and took the clip and used it for my AMV.

A few days later, I randomly came across this video and practically teared. It's the English dub of Naruto's Speech, but it's still as sad.

The runner-up would be in episode 109 - the famous SasuSaku scene before Sasuke left the village. I wholeheartedly mean this, I'm not just saying this because I'm a SasuSaku-tard. Sakura cries and confesses her love for him, yet he just calls her "really annoying" and leaves Konoha. The "thank-you" eased things a bit. That's srsly sad. Imagine yourself as Sakura and doing what she did for him and in the end all there is the flat-out rejection.

I haven't read the manga with Asuma's death, but I'm sure that will be a tear-jerker.

When Naruto walks by Sasuke sitting on his dock of memories, they glare in disgust at each other, Sasuke out of the corner of his eye. But Naruto, later in private, smiles. That just brought a happy-sad tear to my eye.

So he stands there crying wishing there was someone to love him, but nobody does. That feeling of loneliness, trapped in the darkness, that always feels the saddest. It always makes me both sad and angry that there is nobody there to give him a hug or comfort him.

That was one of the sadder moments. I think another sad part was when Haku's past was explained. Then when Zabuza asked to be placed next to Haku.

The two saddest moments IMO were:

When Sandaime had to seal away the souls of Shodai and Nidaime, and the two apologized to him for any trouble they caused. Man, that was sad, and showed that all hokages = the greatest shinobi evar

The other was Naruto going 4-Tails in the "Akatsuki Spy" arc. That was also pretty sad.
