That's funny, but until that moment I thought that it was Sasuke who actually beat down Itachi... but yeah... I re-read it... now it makes even less sense that way... I know that Itachi is stronger than Oro... and almost certainly stronger than Dei... but the 'gap' is not that big between them in terms of ablilities... and yet Sasuke, having defeated Orochimaru and Deidara, was easily beaten by Itachi... another adjective is now attached to Sasuke - 'freaking weird' :)
