I know very well you guys have something to rant about with gundam, and when I say that, I mean any series. Anywho, there's gotta be something, ANYTHING, that you must've disliked in the series. Products such as manga, toys, doujinshi, etc. are included other than the tv series.

I bought me some really great gundam seed doujinshi out there, in the psycho world of hentai. Although, I shouldn't be talking, cuz, well, some are rather hentai-ish, but the majority is hana hentai. But that's NOT the point. Where I'm getting at is, for the very few artists out there, that draw the human anatomy correctly, I appluad you. Honestly, it's almost impossible to find stuff like that, nowadays. God, they make the women (not including Murrue, cuz well, she's already loaded) have like football sized implants, and guys have baguet sized "assests", and the characters end up falling into the most pornographic sex out there. Come on now, we all know who was blessed with what assests. It's just ridiculous. Bet some of you guys and gals wouldn't mind if I gave you a scan example of these ridiculous doujinshi, but if I did, I might get banned.


So there's a lil example, and I'm looking forward to some of your rants.....so RANT AWAY!!!

I don't know too much about doujinshi, but there are probably tv series that surpass those doujinshi in "size over exageration" (sp?)

lol, phase armor is nothing compare to the gundanium armor of gundams in wing. Wing zero, heavy arms, etc.. can kill like 5000 leos and aries without a single damage :confused

I get pissed off when Bandai wastes a precious month on a freakin mobile suit variation model of something they've already brought out. Take the RX-78-2 for example. FIVE FREAKIN MASTER GRADES BASED OFF THE SAME DAMN SUIT. Let's see there is the RX-78-2, RX-78-2 ver. 1.5, Casvel's RX-78-2, RX-78-2 Katoki, and RX-78-2 OYW 0079 version. If I count the Perfect Gundam, that's six. I won't even list all the Zaku II variations, months and months where they could have released other, completely different suits. Who the hell told them to release the Strike Rouge anyway the regular Strike was just fine. Speaking of the Strike, they could have added at least one pack to the Perfect Grade Strike, hell you pay big money at least I'm not asking the thing to talk or make my coffee.

The thing that pisses me off most about Gundam SEED is as Kevin said, Phase Shift Armor. It's just stupid that there 'would' be a type of metal that could change it's outer layer so it got more resistant to heat and pressure (lasers and rocket impacts). And that it changes paint depending on the pack used on the back of the Strike/Impulse. Something else that bothers me is the gundams running out of power. Impulse has that 'Duterion-beam' or something, to get it's power back, but that's even more silly. Why couldn't they just have as the old gundams? They run out of ammo (rockets, bullets) and power for their lasers.

It just add's a stupid element to the anime. "Oh no! Im out of power! Shit! What do I do!?", of course, you go into SEED-mode and kick his ass as everyone seem to have done when they are out of power. Apart from Athrun who self-destructed Aegis.

Ah... that's about it.

Anyway, my biggest gripe with all of Gundam is the gravity. One minute a room has gravity, then the hallway has none and the characters are floating, but then at the end of the hallway is another hallway that T junctions the one without gravity...and that other hallway has people walking down it normally. One minute the hangar has no gravity, and the next it does so we can see that the cranes do serve a purpose. Ship gravity is screwed up.

Freedom lost a Head and a Leg in one battle and lost almost everything else in another battle in ep 6 of destiny a Gundam got Owned by 2 Zakus :amazed lost an arm and a Leg are some examples

Why in the hell cant they make any GOOD Gundam Games :mad the only one I ever really liked was Moblie Suit Gundam: Federation vs Zeon and Bandai didnt even make it Capcom did I want them to make a Gundam Game along the Lines of Zone of the Enders 2 now that would be badass

I thought phase armour just made you immune to ballistic, explosive damage and physical damage (regular swords). It's weak vs energy weapons. That's why most of the gundam's carried anti-beam coated shields. It also explains why almost all of the damage they ever get hurt with (when it happens at all) is based off energy weapons.

I'm with chillin' on this gripe. It's the models. There are just too many repeats and not enough variety. They really need to make a wider range of 1/100. My only other gripe is the whole "Seed" mode. Take a look at Mwu, he's a beast. He was kickin' ass and takin' names without seed mode. Yet suddenly Seed mode was the _thing_ to have to even be able to fight at times. I just wish it was more rare. I'm surprised the bloody haro doesn't have a seed mode.

Well I don't really have a grip about this but a lot of people do. In SEED and Destiny they seem to repeat a lot of scenes instead of making a few extra seconds of original material. Seems like they get lazy.

I don't like the way the non-gundams are looked down on. like in the most recent ep of GSD they had like 40 Windams and all equipped with shields and stuff but all they really did was fly around and get shot. Not once do I even see them use their shields. Sorta pointless.-_-

I wonder if they can make a online gundam game, where you go on different missions with mobile suits etc. I don't really mind phase shift that much, since it didn't make the gundams indestructable. Is just adds color to the gundam.

However, I hope they could add more to the meaning to the seed mode, instead of just some psycho destorying stuff. Since they copy so much from other gundams, might as well make co-ordinator more similar to new-types.. using telepathic communication and stuff

Anyway...another rant I guess would be models, sure it's smart on their part to reproduce the same models cuz there are moron's who would buy the same model with small variations.
They need to make money which is why the next 1/100 Destiny Gundam is...........

Well, I have some rants...

In general, I don't mind seeing quasi-invincible Gundams, but of course, it would be better if Gundams are just destructible than any other mobile suit.

In SEED/Destiny, I have to say, the over-usage of replayed cells. It tends to make scenes a little boring. And some characters tend to over-exaggerate. For instance, in Destiny's first few episodes, remember the druggies' assault on the Gundam hangar where Auel did a Equilibrium-ish move? That was way overboard. And the Gundams are over-equipped, i.e., tend to become "overkill".

That's all I can say.

The "whiny" main pilot goes back to the main motif of most Gundams: The reluctant child/teenage hero. They don't want to fight in a war, they want to run away and be with their friends and family and pretend the war isn't going on. Then they get a Gundam plopped in their lap and their friends become endangered and they fight to protect them, gradually unlocking new senses and abilities they didn't know they had. The Gundam pilots who are in the military from the beginning seem to avoid this somewhat, at least in the UC and CE. Shinn isn't whiny when it comes to piloting, he knows his place and pilots it seems. And Kou Uraki from 0083 jumped at the chance to get in the cockpit of any Gundam. But yeah, if you were a teenager who hated war and then found out you were the only one capable of saving people by piloting a big hunking pile of death induceing machinery into a warzone...wouldn't you be miserable too?

It adds a sense of character development, as the hero gets better at pilotting! Like NejiHinata said, most characters in the story aren't in the military from the start like Kira, which makes them more human (a better character) and easier to relate to ~ getting involved in the war only because they have to, not because they want to. As they get involved in the war, they become a stronger character as the story goes, and are able to fight for what they believe in instead of following orders.

Also, characters who are in military from the start (in gundam) tends to follow orders and stuff, and as for shin... for revenge purposes. Not exactly and ideal character.

PPL who cries for peace and don't like war would turn down the chance to pilot a mech. Mech is just like a gun. I don't want ppl getting killed around me, so thats why I don't like ppl having guns, nor would I carry one myself. I am sure anyone can shoot a gun, but it still takes time for practice for perfect aim, which is the same for piloting a gundam.

Then there are other ppl who like to carry guns for the feel of power, even though the say they are using it to protect other ppl. => power hungry :notrust

If there isn't a war around me, I wouldn't really care much about pilotting even if I have the chance. There isn't any pt of holding a weapon of mass destruction, when I am living in a peaceful environment which I am grateful for. I rather spend time living happily then have guns and mobile suit around me.

well I didn't plan on this turning into a huge debate, so let me make a point clear before I continue. I am well aware that whatever I say will not change your mind, this is an issue that is not black and white but shades of grey.

If there was a mobile suit parked right by where I live and I got the chance to pilot it I would love for that to happen, this doesnt mean I'm going to look for where the guns are and start shooting everything in sight. I would just go and drive it around, fly here fly there and have fun. It would be just like a car except much cooler.

Guns I dont care for but I do enjoy mobile suits and mechs

I hate the old gundam models, the ones that fall apart when you touch them or even look at them wrong. The f91 L-type is such a cool suit but the model is a piece of crap.

All the ships both on earth and space getting their ass kicked instantly by mobile suits. Its like they designed them to never fight against mobile suits. They should at least coat them with anti beam coatings

I don't like the way they made the water look in Gundam SEED on certain parts. They tried making it CG but i thought it looked terrible.

I don't like the way Gundam SEED characters get most of the screen time on Gundam SEED Destiny. That may seem to be changing though. The latest episode had a lot of Shinn. But did anyone else feel Shinn's voice was a bit strange? seemed like he doesn't know how to yell or his voice was cracking or something. Just sounded strange

oh yeah and I also don't like the fact that Gundam X got mutilated. I haven't finished watching it, but i can already tell that it is a great series.

Yeah. That's another gripe of mine too. The fact that Gundam SEED characters are still stealing time for Gundam SEED Destiny. They have all already had their own series and it should just end at that (although I do really miss the Buster Gundam, why can't I find good wallpapers of it?! another gripe!!)

I agree Kiba. Wing is quite good as a Gundam by itself. But it's absolutely nothing to discuss about it. The series is finished, no point in speculating in any 'future' episodes or whatever. Wing don't have any emotions, it's completely devoid of feelings, just as you said. The only feelings there are is Duo's bond with his Deathscythe.

Now to stay on the thread, I'll make a little rant.

I really don't like the way the Destiny gundam looks. Thoes pointy shoulders, they are inviting the though: "Hey! You could pick someone's eye out with that thing!". And then the overall coloration of the suit is almost a spitting image of the Zeta gundam. Then it has stolen the wing-thing from Freedom, just with a rounder design. Then they have taken the Wings of Light from the V2/A/B/AB gundam.

I love Gundam for the fact that it depicts giant robots as common war machines, like tanks or planes, rather than super-robots that save the world from aliens and do martial arts. The only Gundam productions that suck are G-Saviour and SD Gundam Force. Everything else is really good stuff (especially 0083).
