Itachi wont be dying any time soon, he will die only when Sasuke fights him while being with Konoha.

I dont even think Itachi might die, he has some love in his heart for Sasuke, he just might vanish without Sasuke fighting him.

Itachi is an outstanding character to me, although we dont know much about him.

My theory was about that Itachi and the AL would be the last 2 to stand..Meaning he'll live till the end of Naruto and then fight with Sasuke...Now, Itachi can beat Sasuke easy cause Sasuke got a "human" heart and Itachi got more a "robot" heart, with no feelings, when Itachi wants to give it the last shot to it Kakashi jumps in and saves Sasuke by giving up his own life and killing Itachi. Well, my favorite Akatuski member is Itachi, and as for how he will end, I think it's pretty clear that he will eventually get killed by Sasuke. Actually, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that he and Sasuke might kill each other. It's possible that Sasuke will succeed in killing him, but only at the cost of his own life.
The other possibility I can think of is that when fighting Sasuke, Itachi will feel a glimmer of love for his brother that causes him to hesitate just long enough for Sasuke to kill him. Sort of like how Sasori hesistated just long enough to leave a momentary opening in his defenses, allowing his "parents" to kill him.
