I have 92 pgs of this Fic done XP Here is Chp.1
A light snow fell upon the roof tops as a lonely Genin looked down upon the streets below. Children ran wild through the trees, chasing each other with balls of snow. Other’s happily clung to their Jounin teachers or parents, depending on the age. And then there was Sierra. Kojin looked down at Sierra with a loving smile, even though she couldn’t see him at all.
A cold winters wind sliced across his skin and caused him to shiver lightly. He rubbed his hands together and he stood up. Before turning, he gave the giggling Sierra another smile and dashed off.
He looked up to the Sunokage’s palace and increased his speed. He remember his Sensai had wanted to see him, but about what he didn’t know. They knew Iheda wanted an out-of-the-village mission, but why he would do this on the festival day baffled even him. But then again, Iheda wasn’t a very patterned man either.
Kojin dashed across the rooftops, his eyes scanning the street beside him. Garyuu, his fellow companion, and Sierra to made their way down the street, talking and chattering. Beside them were several children, clinging to their hands. Kojin smiled an innocent smile and returned his gaze ahead.
Suddenly, an unusual presence caught his attention and brought him to an abrupt halt. The short, red haired man store directly at Kojin, grinning a mischievous grin. For a moment, a swelling of anger erupted in the pit of his stomach and sent his instincts into attack mode. Though, at a second glance he held himself and just stared back at the man.
For a moment more they exchanged stares before the red-haired man broke away into a passing crowd. Kojin eyed him intently as the man disappeared into the horizon. The Young Genin crouched there for a moment more, contemplating on whether or not to speak to the Sunokage about this. After another moment of struggling, he came to his decision and decided to hold off on it.
He sprang across the roof tops once more, doubling his efforts; he was already late as it was.
The Sunokage looked up into the sky as he to felt something unusual; something he’d never felt in his town before—a sense of insecurity. The Sunokage furrowed his brows, looking down at the snow covered town. The feeling continued to itch at his mind, chipping away at his very resistance. The feeling grew closer and closer; faster and faster. Iheda whirled around to face the threat head on and was surprised to find Kojin standing there panting heavily with sweat trickling down his forehead.
“I feel a swelling of insecurity with in you, young one. What is wrong?” Iheda asked, leaning on his wooden cane with a raised brow.
Kojin, startled by the question, slumped back slightly and shook his head. Iheda raised a suspicious brow but nodded his head and approached the Genin.
“Remember Kojin, if you need someone to talk to, I am here…I know your parents very well…” Iheda began, resting a cold hand on the child’s shoulder “so don’t be afraid to approach me about anything.”
Kojin pushed off Iheda’s hand and shot a glare at his Master, “Can we get on with this please?” he failed to hide the blush creeping up on his cheeks.
Iheda threw his head back in bellowing laughter as Kojin turned a bit of a brighter red. The Sunokage rubbed his chin and nodded his head in agreement.
“Gather your supplies and comrade, and then meet me at the gate. I have received an urgent message from the Shadow Country. It seems they have gained knowledge that Sand is invading their borders and they want our help.” Iheda informed and stepped past Kojin “So ready yourself quickly and prepare to set off.”
Kojin glanced back at The Sunokage and gave a nod before he jumped over the railing and was off…
The Red-headed Sierra leaned against the building, watching as the band marched up and down the steps. She felt happy but at the same saddened as she knew they had a mission today. She gave a heavy sigh and looked to the snow covered steps, wondering what in the hell Iheda could be planning now.
Still, a swell of excitement whirled up through her veins as the slightest aspect of fighting got her so riled. She looked up to meet eyes with a red-haired man across the street. She gave an apprehensive glare, desperately trying to stop herself from attacking. Confusion over took her as she peered at the man. Never before in her life had she wanted to attack a person with such hate. But…he just stood there, grinning his mischievous grin.
Sierra fisted her hands and crouched slightly, preparing to spring. Suddenly, Kojin dropped down in front of her, grinning. His breath came in quick pants as he tried to gather it as quick as he could. She eased herself slightly, glaring at Kojin and shot a glance over his shoulder; the man was gone. Fuck. She thought, her hands tensing again.
“I-Iheda summons u-us. G-Gather you s-supplies and m-meet u-us at the front gate…” Kojin sputtered between breaths and returned to the roof tops once more.
Sierra snarled as she scanned the street desperate to find any sign of the man. Frustrated, she gave up after finding nothing and went about her business; the Sunokage was waiting.
From the roof top above the red-haired man grinned and turned away and vanished within the air.
Garyuu peered at the buildings across from him; the band marching up and down the street as well. He took a deep breath and exhaled powerfully as his eyes flickered open. He adjusted himself and glanced beside him. The red-haired man had returned, now leaning against the building beside Garyuu.
“So you must be the reason I sense so much hostility within this town.” Garyuu spoke and pushed off the building and turned to face the well-built man “Then let me not waste your time anymore feared one. Let us see what makes them fear you.”
The man smirked and shook his head as he slowly began to fade away, “Another time Shinobi.”
Garyuu snarled and glanced behind him and straightened himself. Sunokage, Sierra and Kojin stood there, peering at him with wondering eyes. He older Genin smirked and then dusted the snow of his white vest and turned to his comrades.
“Who in Gods name were you talking to?” Kojin asked, wondering if his friend had gone insane.
Garyuu went to speak but held his tongue and shrugged, “Just my shadow I guess.”
“In attack position?” Iheda raised an unconvinced brow “You’ve seen something, but with you it’d be a cold day in hell (no pun intended) if I ever got that kind of information out of you.”
Garyuu smirked and ran a hand through his golden brown hair, “You know me all to well Master.”
Iheda gave an approving nod and turned for the gate.
“Before we go, let me explain our mission. A war is breaking out in the Shadow Village and the most elite of Konoha and Suno have been called into action. Unfortunately, that means us. But Konoha hasn’t be spared either; Yondaime, Kakashi, Obito and Rin are going as well. We will meet up with them at the border of Shadow Country and we will combine forces to repel the enemy attack.” Iheda spoke and turned to the village gates “Now come, we must make haste!”
And so begin the journey…
