Please Please PLEASE stop being so damn ignorant. What the hell is going on lately in this forum? There are a majority of religious threads that are narrowed down to Christianity. I have been observing the forum lately and most of the threads are religious threads that contain nothing more but groups bashing each other and bigot's having a free for all.

I came in this morning to check my little quote thread and I had to pas 10 religious threads that consisted of either trivial topics or just domains of flaming. You 'true' cafe members should take responsibility of your actions. Beanie: I know you have points you want to make in threads but attacking some rookie because he is a little novice to how things work is ridiculous. You so called cafe members who have been around for some time should NOT be acting like complete idiots.

Look around! Do you guys notice you are attracting immature people from other forums that just come in and act like asses because they see you all are doing it? We have 2 new members a day from other forums who just come in, have no skills in debating or logical thinking, and just go awire because that's all they see from seasoned members. I know it was good at first just getting some steam off but this is ridiculous just attacking every thread talking about the same shit over ad over again.

Th personal vendettas you guys are having needs o either stop, be taken to PMs or handled intelligently. I see members acting like fucking kids just swearing at each other go all off topic like nothing matters more then their personal affairs. If you dislike some one and want to prove their post wrong just do it intelligently and have debates with them, not just come out like an idiot and swear at them.

CHOICE OF TOPICS: This goes to all of you guys making these trivial threads on religion. If you wan to talk about religion then NAME the religion in specific. Be original and talk about another religion besides Christianity. We have man other religions out there that you can debate or criticize other than this ONE christian topic. Also, maybe you should have people's thoughts in interest wen you are makig a thread. Asking stupid questions you KNOW will provoke members to thrash out is just petty. Be original in your thoughts and Topics.

Overall, You guys have turned this forum into a fucking domain of flames, all I see is "Fuck you", "Fuck them",:"Fuck this", act your ages people, you guys are doing nothing but bringing more ignorant ass-holes to add to the madness.

These are the exact reason's why I don't post in this forum as often as I used to. A lot of the smart people both religious and not religious, conservative and liberal have stopped posting here and left it to ignorant people who either flame each other. Or those who can't understand that normative claims can be as valid as empirical ones.

No it won't. But on the other hand there is not alot I can do to change the way the people are behaving this forum. They have freewill so I can't stop it, but that does not make it any less annoying. So I feel that there is nothing wrong with me complaining about the status of this forum.

You have the right to do so.

IMO, yeah I don't see why people always have to get on christianity for having problems, we sure as hell know all religions have loose screws; and it annoys me that when people can't prove their point, they resort to uncalled means by cussing or dissing the person they're debating with. (in other words, can somebody say "sore losers?")

You can stop whining for a start. And post in this thread that doesn't involve religion: http://forums.narutofan.com/showthread.php?p=6986337#post6986337

Got to love the fact that a thread about toning down flaming has resulted in flaming. And was flaming people from the start :)

It is rather elitist. The "true" cafe members. Who cares if "rookies" come here, its their full right and if they enjoy it whats to stop them.

Those indepth philosophical debates of the "novice" members can still continue. So what if it got bumped from the first page, you do not own this forum.....

For crying out loud, both of you shut up. You're giving me eyestrain trying to scroll past all the posts of you two bitching at each other. I come here because I get bored and like some intelligent arguing. Don't take that away from me.

Just stop posting, you are a pest.

He's not being a pest, he's making valid points.

And Christianity is a very interesting, in-depth topic, one that I won't be finished discussing any time soon. Besides, most of the people posting here live in countries where Christianity IS the dominate religion... What topics to you think will crop up, the ones that hit close to home, or the ones that we can only wonder at from afar?

It's easier to give honest answers to things we know about, instead of things about which we can only speculate.

Besides, it's not as if you're contributing any more than us -- All that you do is redundantly ask people for proof, even when the post is based off of personal experience alone. That IS their proof, I'm sorry.

And you're acting pretty childish yourself, negging me because I negged you, and you felt indignant.

Who died and made Bishop mod? :noworry

You 'true' cafe members should take responsibility of your actions. Beanie: I know you have points you want to make in threads but attacking some rookie because he is a little novice to how things work is ridiculous.

I resent the implication that anyone is a 'true' cafe member, let alone myself. We're all equals. Nothing I have to say is more important or special than a newbie with a postcount of 1. The only 'rookie' I presume you're referring to is Indi, and frankly that's an insult to Indi. I don't consider him to be any more of a rookie than me, even if he hasn't been here as long as others. The date someone joined does not reflect their intelligence or experience.

well, being the only true cafe member, I must say.......

except as beanie said, there is no cafe membership. You can be a member of really three htings here. The bath house. Senior membership. and being a mod. Thats it.

Anyways, about christianity. Philosophy. What kind of philosophy has had the most impact on thistory? Religon. So it is logical that religion should be discussed. And what religion has had the most impact on the culture I live in, western culture, christinaity. So those of us who come from the western culrute, which is most of us, will probably discuss religion. I mean, the phil section is the ONLY place to discuss religion on the forum, so I don't see why that is a big deal.

As for flaming, it happens. Alwasy has, probably alwasy will. Simply ignore it and go on.

And if you have a question then you should be able to ask it. Saying something TO make people react is different than saying something that will probably cause some people to react not well, but could also create some really good discussion.

If we ignored contraversial topics, it would be boring.

And passion is part of debating. If noboyd disagreed it would be yeah your right and that sit. If nobodyw as passionati it would be yeah, that makes sense too, and that is the end. It wouldn';t be interesting.

That is the price you pay, sometimes you get flames, sometiems people lose their temper, but in the end you get something worth thinking about out of it.

This is a common thing in most forums. I would have to agree with Bishop in a sense, even if it comes off a bit authoritative. Most threads are made with or created mid-way as a way to take jabs at certain religions. There is no common ground for people with such ideological differences, so naturally it evolves to attacking.

I've also seen forums that strictly moderate these types of discussions and it really slows down progess or momentum for people to discuss religion. Personally I find the only way to avoid all this is by personal restraint, respect the other posters, don't jump at everything they say, and use some good diplomacy skills. It's just not many are willing to do that because they feel they have the right to say whatever they want. It's true that they do, but you get this sort of thing happening.

If you create an enviroment where it's understood that peoples intentions are good, that they will listen to what you have to say and present their side in a respectable manner, I think you will find that new comers, and even people who use to be very aggressive will slowly start to relax and contribute properly. Just keep in mind that no one is perfect and people will get upset, and there is nothing you can do to stop it from happening.
