how to add borders to sig?

i'm stuck, how do you add borders to sigs in photoshop?please help

Add a new layer and fill it with white (using paint tool). Go to the layer palette and change where it says 'Normal' to 'Darken'. Now go to Edit and click on Stroke. Usually I use a 1px border. There may be other ways to do it, but this is how I make my borders.

New layer > Ctrl+A > Edit > Stroke 1 Px Black
