There isn't one instance when someone from dragonball moved faster than lightspeed. Speed of the energy blasts is very much debatable

The FASTEST ever show of speed in dragonball is in the Tournament saga, Master Roshi destroys the moon with a Kamahamaha wave. Blast takes roughly 5 seconds to travel 363,000.000m. The speed of light is 299,792,458m/s so work it out, 20% of the speed of light is still fast but this is the fastest anything has moved in dragonball.


If you THINK you have found a speed feat faster than this, please post it.

Infact later in the dragonball series, the fighters might even get SLOWER for example Gotenks wanted to test his new speed, he did this by traveling around the word 3 times in a few minutes. Thats 127,563,000m in a few minutes, thats not even close to the speed of light and is suppose to be the upper Dragonball character 'speed feat'

surviving in the vacuum of space is something Frieza's race is uniquely capable of. It isn't a durability feat. His surviving namek exploding is a durability feat but a feat that MANY comic characters can survive and is nothing to the likes of Bill and Thor.

In regards to his being cut in half, again this isn't durability (if it was a durability feat he wouldn't of been cut in half in the first place) it would be more along the lines of a unique trait of his race. It would seem that the parts he lost had no vital organs and had Goku not given him some extra power he likely would of died before his father found him and rebuilt him as a cyborg.

I can't speak for anyone else here but I have seen and read all that there is save the last half of GT due to lack of interest. Chances are also very high that I completed the series before many of the DB fans now. I remember the 1995 release of Dragonball on Fox and roughly 3 and a half years later I found a site which no longer exists maby some of you remember Saiyancinema.com(May be net it was a long time ago). Either way after like 2 months of that I finished the Subtitled series and watched Cartoon Network periodically when DBZ was continued. To start off, your grammar is just... shocking.

Judging from Cell's own reaction, he himself did not believe he could take that blast... unless Cell is just a measly little coward who whines and whimpers about everything.

Feasibly, the only one who could survive such a blast is Frieza, since in the entire series he is the only one who has succesfully withstood the power of a planet buster WITHOUT the need for some kind of regeneration.

So now I leave you with this every time a Planet Buster is released someone IE: Goku or Trunks or whoever else is there to witness it IE: Krillin says its going to destroy the planet. You want me to pull the scans I will. However everyone should remember so I don't see the point. Now I say that no blast outside of those parameters could have destroyed a planet. Meaning quite simply the DBZ crew doesn't just dish out planet buster after planet buster. We have Frieza who was claimed by Goku, Vegeta who was claimed by Trunks, Goku who was claimed by everyone, Cell who was claimed by Goku, Cell again on his Self Destruct and Buu on several occasions.

I never said every planet buster was Equal I was laying down that; the Planet Busters are labeled, any attack that isn't a planet buster is weaker than a Planet Buster. If you actually watch the show or read the manga you'd see very clearly and logically the reason they fire so many blasts is because they are all tiny shots meant to wear down their opponent. You can count how many planet busting attacks were used on two hands.

I'll leave it open for you to show me a scan where someone is using a planet buster that isn't stated as being as one. So I expect to see a blast destroy a planet without anyone saying that it would. Not the Moon mind you but an actual planet. REMEMBER the blast must show its capacity for destroying a planet but have no character or narration of any kind saying before hand that the attack was a planet buster.

Why is this important? Because with the exception of Trunks NO character took a direct hit from a Planet Buster and didn't take damage. Cell survived but ONLY because of his regenerative capabilities same with Buu. Trunks caught the attack which isn't a durability feat by far. So unless you can prove this, NO DBZ character has ever shown the ability to withstand the impact of a planet buster. In addition EVEN the most powerful characters have died in stars. Something which Beta Ray Bill can do. So prove it or shut it.

The blast from the destruction would be weaker as its force would not be concentrated. Your caught in part of the blast instead of taking the full force. Also the blast doing the destroying would at least in DBZ's case be full force. So to bring it to a relative scale. Swallowing a Grenade(Getting hit by the full force) VS Getting hit by shrapnel of that same Grenade(Getting caught in the Blast). Not entirely to scale mind you just to put it into perspective.

If you want to be fair to DBZ, you should only really measure feats up to and including the end of the Frieza saga, seeing as Toriyama just didn't care any more after that, and threw what little logic there was out the door.

It also happene in comics, for example would you in a Thanos v Goku fight tell me that the scan of Thanos shield holding a Galactus blast isn't canon because it only happened once and has been broke by much weaker attacks before (such as drax?)

Your missing time that it takes to travel. In the anime it shows several seconds passing for both feats. In the Manga its a panel or so later. So there is only the anime to go by for time which is meaningless because the Anime isn't accurate.

Now how long did either blast take to get there. Both Manga's provide no information therefore to base it off the Manga is speculation. In the anime there is a minute or so gap between when the attack is launched and when they show the moon is gone. So the best we can calculate is its less than 1 minute.

Greater than 6,515 kilometers per second; which actually if you consider Gotenks' travel speed 6,950 Kilometers per second makes perfect sense. However its still based off the anime which is dodgy at best. However it fits in line with the facts.

Its all filler crap but it gives us no barring on how long it took. I'd say it prolly took something like 3-7 seconds. All we know for a fact is LESS than a minute. From there we can only speculate and use other references of speed to decide. If someone could find a scan or something to narrow the number down to proving its at least less than 30 secs. I'll change my posts to reflect it. I'll be searching youtube for a visual feat. It'd be nice if we could narrow it to under 10 secs.

It's discounted because there are multiple instances that discount it and the fact that in DBZ later material should take precedence over the earlier.Mr.Satan is able to see Goku fire off a blast at Kid Buu,and he is also able to see the blast Kid Buu fires at him.If those blast were moving as fast as Piccolo's and Roshi's blasts Mr.Satan would have never seen them coming.
