I had read in some thread that this one was good so I though: "What the hell, why not try it?".

So I downloaded it and watched it yesterday together with a friend of mine who is also a bit of a gundam-geek (not as much as me though :laugh ).

And damn. This film is from 1991 and it held the same class as today's anime movies. I've never seen that smooth animations and such cool gundams.

Also I loved the story. Strange people in mobile suits attack the colony, everyone in fear, screaming and running around and searching for a shelter and on that way it goes. I really liked the characters in it. Especially the Iron Mask guy, damn he was cool. But Seabook (the main character) in his little F91 and yber-newtype powers kicked his ass. How cool it was.

How impressed I was with this one. Simply great. Want a good movie to watch? Watch this one!

And I seem to be on some stort of Gundam-spree. Right now im downloading Gundam Wing (seen it before but only in english :confused ), G Gundam and Victory Gundam.

In a couple of day's I'll have more gundams to see than I can handle. :amuse

I liked F91 as well, but I really do wish they had expanded the story more. I heard that originally it wasn't even supposed to be a movie.

Yup, originally, it was meant to be a tv series. That's why the story is kinda rushed a little. Too bad, coz it had great potential, and F91 was a well-designed gundam (the baddies' mech is pretty crazy too)

It was a fun movie to watch. But for some reason, F91 has never been considered to be a good gundam product by most of the fans. i read it got some bad reviews somewhere. Was it mahq that gave it a bad review? think so.

I downloaded it from here (http://www.boxtorrents.com/browse.php?cat=5&search=Gundam).

Took a few hours to get it down, but it was well worth it.

For beeing a movie from 1991 it holds exceptionally high class in both animation and drawing. Indeed, the story was a bit corny and rushed because it was a movie but I really liked the designs of the gundams and the characters in it. It would have had high potential of becomming a great anime if they made it into one.

And another thing: The more gundams you watch, the more disturbed you get with the gundam designs. Freedom is very alike the F91 because it folds up two big guns below it's arms.

Anyway. A great movie. Too bad it wasn't a 50ep anime. :notrust

Yes, I agree. Mobile Suit Gundam F91 would be a lot better if it were a 50-episode series. Of course, the story and character can be further developed.

And notice how fast Seabook learned to pilot the F91. :D

Wow, noticed the resemblance, too. :smile-big

I love F91 as well. Went out and bought it friday and watched it yesterday. Really good. To paraphrase a shirt I've seen recently: I less than three Cecily.

Anyway, about Gundam desings: Wing was based on the God Gundam, IIRC...so I really don't get bothered by a little repitition in the designs.

No, im not bothered. Im just saying that they steal idea's from older gundams to make the new ones. But so far. I haven't seen any gundam that is much alike the Zeta, Double Zeta, Hyaku-Shiki or the Qubelay. Gundam X has a MS that is a bit like the Qubelay but thats all.

The golden Murasame that Andy is going to pilot in Destiny is a throwback to the Hyaku Shiki, but yeah, designs are sometimes recycled *shrugs* it happens; it's hard to come up with brand new designs.

F91 was awesome beyond comparison as a movie, but imo I think a 50ep-series would be stretching it. I agree that it was a bit rushed (maybe a 2-part movie would be ok), but I just don't think it has enough bulk to be turned into a series. And the cost and time for creation would downgrade the animation quality quite a bit. (I wanna know what happens to Cecily and Seabook after the "final fight" :sad )

No, it doesn't have the bulk for a full series in the form it was presented in. But another re-write of the plot, perhaps taking it to the end of the full Crossbone Vanguard situation, would've deffinitely taken up a full 50 episode series.

Yeah, originally, the way it was written, was that the series would encompass the entire Crossbone Vanguard conflict. Instead, they re-wrote it, compressed it, and we have F91.
