Photoshop problem need expert help

i have this 01 and a tilda on my pages when i creat new docs. please help

Elaborate further, please. I don't understand what you mean. When you save a file, it does something like BLAHA~01.JPG or whatnot? If so, that is not a Photoshop issue, it's an issue of your OS not supporting long file names. Windows will add a ~ if the filename/directory name is too long.

Press Ctrl + H. (Or G, I just forgot.) I know how annoying it used to be, soon as I installed Photoshop CS I just had to destroy that annoying little box.
