Thriller Bark Arc
Brook or Brooke is known as the "Gentleman Skeleton" though he claims to be a gentleman he is quiet the opposite.Having bad table manners,Has a very perverted sense of humor,and also tells rather awkward jokes referring to himself being a skeleton.

The reason why Brook or Brooke keeps living on and protecting his afro from being cut is that he made a promise to Laboon 50 years ago. He promised that he would return to him and play the violin which Laboon loves as much as he loves Brook's afro. He also believes without the afro, Laboon would not recognize him.

Brook or Brooke's Devil Fuit is the Yomi Yomi no Mi,up intill he died he just wasn't able to swim.After he passed his soul stayed attached to the human world and he wandered for a year intill he was able to locate his decayed skeletal body once more.

5 years before meeting the Straw Hat Crew he found his way to Thriller Bark,where he had his shadow stolen by Gecko Moria and put inside the Samurai Ryuuma to be revived.Due to the fact that he has no shadow he cannot go into the sunlight or he will perish.He learned the weakness of the Zombies by putting salt in there mouths you can purify the Zombies and there shadows return to there original bodies.

Yes Brook is from One Piece and he is awesome.The better thing to say would be if you like One Piece you will like Fairy Tail.Alot of people say that Fairy Tail in someways is a rip off of One Piece.I like both so im really not to partial but I do like One Piece more overall.
