From what the first episode holds, this seems to be a fantasy action story, encompassing battles using guns, swords, mechs, and magic. The drawings are great and the animation is near superb. There seems to be a hint of pervertedness and boobage, so expect panty shots to make an apperanace, but it doesnt seem like they'll go overboard. What held my attention after watching the first episode was the character designs and the sweet as hell fight scene in the first episode.

Has any1 seen My Hime. i have seen the three episodes that are out from akeep and it is pretty good. its weird, and perverted. and its got some weird action, where they get these weird creatures. they get these creatures if they see this red star and if they are in a certain spot or some. if you have seen My Hime what are your thoughts on it?

I can understand the delay in the realease of episode 15 (with them doing two new kariokees), but what is the deal with episodes 16 and 17? I haven't watched the raws of either episode, is there a new intro and/or ending theme? If that is the case is/are they any good and worth the wait? I guess since I am on the topic of My Hime, what do you people think of it? I obviously love it ^_^

dude, mai hime has inexplicably turned into a really dark anime. i call it narutaru syndrome, or NS. But not to such an extent(who's ever seen the anime knows what im talkin about) What i'm saying is that Mai Hime starts out generally fun and stuff but goes for a downward spiral later on in the anime. By the end or close people die, and eveybody is a little more psycotic than before. like in narutaru, where 3 people were killed in the worst ways to die and the main char. girl get a spike driven through her hand. thats what is happening in Mai. Takumi and Tate are dead and Mai is depressed almost to the point of suicide.(probably past)

24 was great i cried. omg i can't wait till the end and YESY IS SO GREAT. and finally SS caught up. up still yesy is better because they are faster. every time one of the himes loves dies a want to cry. what is going to happen if the crazy lesbian looses does that mean umm i forgot her name will die, the gun hime/wolf hime.

and finally i know what mai hime stands for dance princess. which is weird, cause where did they get that there is like one episode where they dance and that is all. but this better than like robot monsters or something.

The way things have been going on, I doubt this one will end happily. All the hime's have hit rock bottom. I just can't believe how the relationship between Mai and Mikoto changed so dramatically. At one point they are like sisters and then the next thing you know they are sworn enemies. Crazy stuff. Psycho lesbians' (forgot her name) behavior shocked me also.

They did attack each other. Remember when Mai goes berserk. I thinks it was episode 22. But I guess you are right, sworn enemies is a little too strong. Mai did say she was happy that Mikoto was still alive. Their relationship still has taken a dramatic turn for the worse.
On a side note: throughout the whole series Shiho has pissed me off so much. One of the most annoying characters ever. I was hoping she would die already.

That's all true but remember what Reito said in ep. 24, something along the lines of "now Mikoto can never be beside Mai". Even though Mikoto still cares about Mai, Mai cannot forgive her that easily. The real question is would Mikoto try to kill Mai if her brother ordered her to.

I don't think Shizuru would fight Natsuki. She could easily own Natsuki. Shizuru probably won't put up any fight if they are face to face. With Mikoto running around wild, it is hard to tell who will be the next one to fall. My guess is that it will be a final showdown between Mai and Mikoto. Then again I could be completely wrong. You never know with this one. I also completely forgot that the robot is there too. She just might turn out to be the wild card in this whole ordeal.

It is mostly action. The first few episodes you are told about the characters and they follow the usual scenario of an enemy appears and they then have to go out and defeat it. But after about episode 10, it starts getting a lot darker with a lot of plot twists. It has a certain shock value with the plot twists, some are very unexpected.

There is some very emotional moments as well though, it has a great storyline.

Very exciting definately worth watching. The recent episodes have all been amazing.

I think Nagi said (or implied) that the extra pillar belongs to Mikoto. I guess that means Mikoto has been defeated, whether she's still standing or not. This would help explain why Mai was declared the victor, even if Mikoto still has her Child.

Well Mai is regarded as the victor of the festival, this is why she was able to meet the Obsidian Lord. Even if there are two HiMEs left that are able to fight, I think Mikoto lost (a while ago) and Mai won. If Mikoto was still in the game then Mai would never have been able to meet Obsidian Lord, and Nagi wouldn't have let her in the lair. I mean, Mikoto "loves" her brother but I think it's more like forced love. Mikoto doesn't seem all that enthusiastic.

Hmm... I didn't pick up anything that looked like that, Night_Rain. Of course Mai was crying about something so you may be right. However, during the trailer it looks like Mai got stabbed by Mikoto as they were fighting.

Of course we know a bit about the outcome but it doesn't look like a happy ending. Man, I can't wait for the next episode! A week is too long!

Awesome episode. I guess Natsukis special person turned out to be Shizuru after all. It sucks. She was such a cool character. In the preview it looked like Mikoto gets defeated. Mai is in between Reito and Mikoto and it looks like Reito is about to slash Mai. My guess is that Mikoto probably jumps infront of Mai to save her. . Once again my predictions were completely wrong lol. Oh well... one more week till the last episode.

i coulda swore natsuki was straightNatsuki is straight. She cares for Shizuru and is somehow pleased to be loved but she said that her feelings towards Shizuru are not romantical. I haven't watched the static subs version, only yesy, in which it was clear Natsuki is not lesbian. Anyway, Natsuki is a great character: although she seems to have forgiven Shizuru, she still does what is right: get rid of the evil molestress.

I still wonder what the festival's (matsuri's) purpose really is. It reminds me of Blue Seed because of the theme of the young virgin (Princess Kushinada/Hime) who has to marry Susano-wo/Lord Obsidian for the renewal of Japan.
As for Miyu, she is a nice Cosmos clone.

Here are the 2 things that have disappointed me so far:
- the end of the Searss arc was anticlimactical and the next episode, Mai came back as if nothing had happened.
- We still don't know anything about Nagi and I doubt there is enough time to solve this problem.

My prediction for the finale:
Mikoto will be killed by the Obsidian Lord after managing to break through his "influence". Mai will then become the Crystal Hime. The Hime Star will then be destroyed and the people in the pillars will be revived (the sister, the artist, Alissa and maybe Mikoto will remain dead as they physically died). The problem is that the final hime is to marry the Obsidian Lord. No doubt that at least one of the remaining players (Mai, Mashiro, Miyu or even Nagi, who knows...) is going to prevent the cycle from repeating.

The story definitely gets better, and darker. Fights also get better. It's slow at first and things really don't take a sharp turn until episode 13. Trust me, give Mai-HiME some time. You'll love it.

The story becomes really interesting from episode 8. But if you're looking for long battles and haven't liked it so far, don't waste your time. It's the first time I hear/read Mai Hime is "cheap"... :blink

I've only seen two episodes of Mai Hime, so i didnt want to read this thread incase it will spoil it for me.

The fight scenes..well i dont like the idea of digimons flying
around and theirs nothing exciting abut the fighting scenes aswel.

If "childs" are "digimons" then... Gamabunta, Pakkun, and all the other animals... are... pokemon?

This is just my opinion of the first two episodes, dont flame me. What i want to ask is if Mai hime gets alot more interesting fight scenes later on, like how you always look forward to Nartuo fight scenes.

Where you in the first 2 naruto episodes?... 'cause I really wasn't, but you maybe started seeing naruto with the idea of: "NARUTO IS FUCKIN/ AWSOME RLZPWNZW00T" and with Mai-Hime you probably started like "Ok, let's check this, but Naruto is still awsome, I want to see some sharingan here too"...

Me on my side, I did watch naruto with that mentality, but Mai-Hime I watched and I didn't even knew what was about, Just wanted some new anime and saw that in animesuki's list

I love the whole seriese.

Shizuru and lesbian were good one.
Shizuru was a little massed up but when I think about the entire Mai Hime anime, most of Himes were massed up with their lives.

Mai: She does not have parents and have sick brother. She works all the time. Her life is not really fun. Classic anime character who works for her family over her own life.

Mikoto: A girl who killed her grandfather and look for her lost brother. Most of all, she is like a dog. She seems to follow Mai because Mai feeds her with food(I felt like this because she is always hungry). Maybe, Mikoto see Mai as a mother figure.

Natsuki: In the begining, she lived for her dead mother, but she realize her mother sold her to other organization for a high price. She loses herself. I think she is a little lesbianish.

Shizuru: She is a lesian. It is not accepted to be a lesian in the eastern society. It is much worse than U.S.

Midori: She is weird, too. just like Mikoto. She is old, but she tends to act like kids. I think she also has some issues.

Nao: She is massed up, too. Classic bad childhood issue. Man, She is classic bad a*s girl in school anime.

Yukino: I think she is a little lesbianish too. She is also classic shy girl in school anime.

Mashiro: I think she lived for revenge or last fight with her brother. I wanted to know what happened, but I am sure it isn't pretty.

Yukariko: She is a nun who shouldn't be a nun.

Shiho: she loves Tate, and I think it is more like obsession. Classic case when a girl goes insane over a love.

This anime surely has many things for male fans to love. I mean, a nun who turns into darkside. :)

Now I understand and most of my questions of have been answered. The only things I want to know are: what's Nagi's relation with Mashiro? And was Mashiro a Child? the last ep. was actually good. in most animes they do it really badly or leave to many holes that never get filled in. but mai hime really did well in that it was happy, the way most love stories end(i.e.chobits, midori no hibi) In the end it followed suit and went the happy way. nothing bad happens in the end everybody is paired up with their loved ones.

Really? I think the change of mood at the end brought some relief. We've been bombarded with this apocalyptic atmosphere since episode 17. I think a dark ending would have been... well it wouldn't have felt right. Lord Obsidian had most probably taken control of her brother as he did with Reito. Mashiro was not able to go against the Hime destiny back then but somehow found a way to survive by putting her soul into a puppet so that she would prevent history from repeating. She later transferred/reincarnated into the pink haired girl's child.

The whole purpose of the series was to definitely break the cycle of the hime festival. But unfortunately, commercial logic tells me that there will be a sequel.

I think the end is very average. I don't completely hate it because most animes have an even worst end. At least we have reached a real conclusion here.
What annoys me is not only that everyone was revived, but also and mostly that they behave as if nothing had happened between them. All the angst and anger has magically vanished. It is as if all the emotion that the show has conveyed to the viewers, especially in the last third, had been for nothing. It makes fun of us viewers and at the same time it is hard not to smile while watching episode 26.
The main quality of mai hime has been to surprise us.

Nah,the anime is just too good,watching all the main and side characters isnt the same without the colors and voices they had in the anime,maybe it could have been the other way around if i would have read the manga before i watchd the anime,but i doubt it since im not such a manga reader guy. :D
but the time i spent on going throught it was worth it,natsuki was a goddess in the manga as well(as expected :P),but it felt kinda weird reading the action and dialog stuff and remeberin how it went in the anime each and every time in my head,but it was cool.
as one of the several-few manga's i went throught from the start to the end without quiting and stopin,Mai HiME's manga is extremly good but the anime is still better but i do recommend trying to read the manga before watching the anime,maybe it will feel diffrent somehow..;)

Allright. This might be a long post but bare with me. First i will say my opinon on the anime and the ending then questions about the anime / manga. Their are spoilers!





First what did i think of the series? Well for starters i was like seems pretty cool chicks with powers lets see where this goes. Then tate gets around and i was hooked because hes such a cool person. Now how they lead up to the ending was dramaic and strong and dark at times i give them 2 thumbs up for this and nagi ( same voice as chrono from chrono crusdae :)) he is cool :) For the ending I kinda figured it would be a happy one hence in episode 25 when that robot chick went after the pillers. I figured wait their not really dead just floating around in those pillers so if it breaks then they are free. hence i was right and when tate came to the resuce i was like SWEET MOTHER OF GOD ! WOOT! So as u can see i was happy about the last episode :)

at the last episode i had 2 theorys which one is right? Ok everyone is ok and back to normal . Tate is now how he used to be in the club again and being nice . But this time he showed mai his feeling towards her and they both love each other.

Now when shiho comes in does she still like him? I mean his tate going to let her hang around him ? Plus whats with renio asking mai out? i mean mai would say no correct? and the fact she loves tate ? I mean i wished they ended it them kissing and have a happy future but it left me like well they love each other but no one else wants it? ( aka shiho and renio ( vice P)) can someone shed some light on me here?

Manga question. IS the manga totaly differant? Does mai still love tate ? ( i love the romance between them) IF so would i like reading it? PLus where can i download to veiw it and is the manga comeplete?


So in the end i am happy that mai loves tate and tate loves mai but that pinic scene leaves me with questions. I am sure mai would not go out with renio correct? that would be just stupid.

Right, well we don't really know what happens at then end of the series but Im pretty sure Mai and Tate are together. Shiho obviously still likes him but Tate doesnt like Shiho so therefore yes Mai would say no to anyone other than Tate asking her out.

I guess it would have made sense if Mai had kissed Tate at the end, but hopefully we will find out what happens in the second season.

Right as regards to the manga. All the same characters are there. But the storyline is very different. Tate is new at the school and Mai is already there. Their are different HiME's and to summon their child they need a "key" which is like a certain person. They need to be close by to the HiME for the summon to work. Mai and Tate are definately still interested in each other.

I'm not certain whether the manga is complete (Feader can tell you this), I haven't read it all yet. I got it from irc but you said you don't use that. Only other place i know is www.directmanga.com and well good luck trying to get it from there. I would send it to you but I am about to go visit someone till Friday.

Remember when the retio san ( aka that lord guy) when he was talking to tate and tate asked him where mai was? He does i thought u chose shiho over mai and that kendo club.

But in the end they show Mai and him together and hes back in the club which means they officaly love each other rather than those interuptions at the pinic..

I am satisfied with the anime they did the anime based all on mai and in the manga Tate they make him like the main guy . Its pretty cool and i am on chapter 31 so far and i am loving it :) and i am downloading some MP3's of my from this site

its awesome.. yeah.. finished watching the whole series in a day LOL.. although there were some minor parts of the story i didnt understand and etc.. especially the relationship between Mai and Tate.. was kinda confusing at first.. yeah the story had twists.. and it was really interesting and fun.. =D

As far as the 2nd season. Looks like there is a new main character. Also by looking at the background I guess that means the place is also in a different area. I'm thinking we will at least see Nagi and forgot her name the lil' girl in the wheel chair. Unless there are new people who will manipulate them once again. I hope it somewhat slows down a bit. I thought the 1st season was sort of fast paced. At some points throughout you would be like wtf?

I don't think the area will be too different as we see the main character in the background at the end of the first series. I think the fast paced side of it was good. I'm hoping for more plot twists and hopefully their it will have its dark moments like the first did.

That Sentence like 3 words in he says Tate kun. like directing it at him instead of MAi witch it appears he is doing.
