The manga is liscensed so you can't dowload it. I buy mine from Borders or www.barnesandnoble.com. The book is available there as well!

I realy enjoyed the manga, but I prefer the movie more...

Dude the violence was necessary. If you drug kids, throw them on an island, give the weapons, and basically tell them "Kill or be killed", then a lot of violence is going to ensue.

rite here, i like BR1, BR2 did dissappoint me. aAe there ne other school, messed up movies rather than volcano high, dat has the same genre "gore" so to speak. like settings based on schools n stuff, i know suicide club is kinda in the categorie, but i still need to watch it. As for non horror japanese movies:
There are heaps of good ones, one thing that annys me is when people think of japanese film they think of the horror movies they know of, or the no-where-near-as-good-as-the-original "re-makes". Japanese film has much more to offer then just horror.

If you really want to see some classic Japanese cinema, watch any or all films by Kurosawa.

So MTV raped Volcano High but I guess, they did an alright job. Ha ha, I'm kidding up the ass they did it, they did it up the ass. I wanted to buy Ichi the Killer as I read the summary and thought it would be cool to watch. Are they making a sequel to Volcano High? It was pretty cool DBZ action scenes.

Battle Royale was a defining moment for me after I watched it because it was so damn screwed up and awesome at the same time. I got to thinking about the movie and the elements that it is composed out of. I am reading the manga now but haven't brought up to the infamous Lighthouse scene. I watched that scene in the movie and read it in the book. I just hope the Manga plays it out just as good.

Actually, I think the manga does a better job at following the book than the movie did. The manga does have some more explicit sex scenes in it than the book (which had like half of one). Have to imagine that in Japan, those kids were 14 and 15 so I don't know how they got away with all of them.

Oh my god, I was reading the 8th volume when the hardcore crazy bitch kills those two boys and at the end the chick bangs the geek. I'm thinking there is no way in hell that thing could be that size in real life. What, 15 inches?

Hmmm.... Have you checked online? Volume 1 wasnt really that hard for to find at the time I bought it... Might I also suggest your read the nonmaga book... It was REALLY good. I rsommend it. It wasnt that highleveled of a read, but the psychological background in the book was phenomonal. The movie wasnt to bad either...

Mitsuko's stabbing him to death with that miny scythe as she's raping him. That scene was so freaking intense. Thats at the top of the list for me, tied with when one character(don't want to spoil it) has to hold his intestines in while running around in a fight......damn....just damn

Its mostley the character's facial exspressions as their getting killed that kinda creeps me out

The book is, by far, the most pure form of Battle Royale for a bunch of different reasons. The Manga rocks pretty hard, I don't mind the violence by Sakamochi's character in it is just disturbing and the rape scene in the first volume was totally uncalled for.

The manga is ART! I love it. It is very beautiful and the emotions are wonderfully drawn. Also theis psychological reactions are realistic.

The film was great too. Really funny bits. And the acting was GREAT.

I think it's a manga worth buying. Here they have published till 7 I think but I don't find it>< From 1-6 the only REALLY disturbing one was the third. I mean it has all the sex concentrated in there><###uuu the extra story and yoshimi's first time weren't even encesary><

i sold my volumes to my friend and am borrowing his as he collects it. have yet to read the rest though. any 1 seen the 2nd movie, cos apparently its sh*cough*it. the first movie was enjoyable, a nice little film if i do say. the gore in the manga, i have noticed, is wonderfully drawn, and so are the characters and especially the facial expressions.

Which characters do you all think you are. I think in some ways i would be the otaku kid that gets killed by the psycho girl. She kills him by having sex with him after shooting him. I think he died right in the...end. That kid had the best death over everyone else.

I'm a girl, but I find the idea of having sex with a hot guy as the last thing I could do wonderful, especially if it is as hot as mitsuko, that, in a guy would be *¬*

Anyway... I think in real life I'd be Kawada or Yukie, Kawada because I seriously would get every useful thing I could from the shops(also called using common sense), Mimura also did, but he is way too intelligent=_=. I like Kawada the best.

Yukie because I am the class representative and would try to get a group that I know well, I kinda like her plan, they would had all survived if the zombie bitch hadn't appeared...

But I'd choose Mimura, sure he was in pain (#1 most horrible death I'd say) but his bomb was badass (the bomb and the cellotape lol), and even the bastard ugly guy(The one that killed fumiyo) was shocked. Kiriyama is also cool, but I'd bet he couldn't do sth like that.

And about the anime geek kid, it is sad to see him die because he actually had Mitsuko caring for him and... me too ToT

Where can I get the books from. I've watched both movies and I've read most of the manga. I've heard the book is the best out of the 3. I'v managed to find the first 10 or so chapters somewhere on the net but nothing else.

Battle Royale is just amazing. I read the book about 2 years ago and have been a fan of it ever since. When the manga started coming out, I was just ecstatic for it and so far I really like the adaptation they did with it. I watched the first movie too, and I liked it alot, though not as much as the book or manga. They changed alot of things which I felt detracted slightly from the story. I didn't watch the second movie, but I heard it was garbage and frankly, I'm not really interested in checking it out. It would be awesome if the author made a sequel to the book however.

My favorite characters in it were Kazuo, Shinji, Shuuya, Mitsuko, and Noriko, in a very close order. I just loved those characters to death. I'm most similar to Shinji (and was sooo utterly shocked and pissed that he died, but I think I most admired Kazuo too, since you know there's something deeper going on. It made me wish that there was a much greater interaction between him and Mitsuko. Shuuya and Noriko were just great as well, I really liked Shuuya's character.

Anyone else think that having an anime based on before the events of the book as well as during it would just be utterly badass? I would be so happy if that were to happen.
