View Full Version : So... Who do you think had better entrance?

So, who do you think was revealed in a better way in the anime? Isshin or Ryuuken?

I think anime did way better job on Ryuuken's entrance. His entire appearance just oozed badassness, together with Uryuu's reaction. And then it continues with the same high-level badassness as Ryuuken explains how big of a BMF he is.

On the other hand, Isshin's entrance seemed way too watered down and stretched. I mean, I loved the end of the episode when he owns GF, but its just that it was so long in comming, and he kinda missed that revelation moment Ryuuken had. His entrance was more like "Hey guys, I'm also Shinigami, you know".

What's your oppinion on it?

Ryuuken.

A shame, because Isshin's was one of the most badass moments ever in the manga.

Ryuuken.

Though I had a heart attack when Isshin was revealed, also i agree with a user above, it was one of the most bad ass moments in Bleach

Ryuuken. How can you forget the new music that was played last episode?(although it was absent in this ep)

Isshin's revelation was more shocking in the manga compared to Ryuuken but here in the anime, I think the animators missed a lot of things.

It has nothing to do with the mod souls. It's more of a mixture of stretched out dialogues, poor VA on GF's part, subpar artwork and animation(my goodness, Isshin chopping GF ended up in a black screen with two white lights clashing with one another? That's one of the thing I hate most in a sword fight.)

I also voted for Isshin. Does Ichigo ever find out about his father anytime soon?

In the anime it was definitely Ryuuken. Isshin's entrance sucked big-time. I can't believe they managed to ruin such a major story-turning event.

I think Ryuken.

Ryuuken's entrance was kick-ass. Which is interesting, because I didn't really care all that much when I first read it in the manga...Isshin's was so much more shocking and everything. But in the anime...I don't really know what it was, but Isshin's just wasn't as cool. =/

Neither entrance was good. They both sucked so bad that it made me laugh and cry at the same time.

They both sucked. The animaters did a very poor job with 111, and it really ruined both entrances for me.

Ryuuken's. The music was great as well.

What? What was wrong with Ryuuken's entrance? The music was good, and great artwork and animation.

Sadly... Ryuukens was better.

Comparing them...

You have never seen or heard Ryuuken prior to this episode, so when he first appeared you had no clue who the hell this badass new Quincy is that is walking out of the shadows... that is completely dressing down Ishida... until you hear "Father" and the episode ends on that cliffhanger.

Its a huge WTF moment and you really want to know what is gonna happen next because of the way the episode ended.

Isshin's wasnt nearly as impressive sadly, because it was probably the best twist in the manga (up there with Aizen's big reveal in Soul Society).

Isshin's reveal occurs in the middle of the episode, no cliffhanger, no big to-do about it, it just sort of happens. I honestly wish they had managed to extend it out to where they made his reveal be the very end of the episode, Hearing him talk a bit, only seeing the Shinigami feet and cloak walking towards them, and then a big splash image of Isshin standing over Kon as the end of the episode.

Then leave the whole fight til 112.

Actually, Ryuken appeared in one of Ishida's flash back when he fought Mayuri.

agree with what seems to be the general consensus, Isshins arrival being mid ep didn't leave you hanging quite so much as ryuukens did. Not the anime teams fault really, one of them had to get the short straw and I guess tehy felt Isshins one hit kill was enough to make up for that,

I liked ryuuken's entrance better because of what he told ishida ("How awkward." i think its ぶざまな buzama and something else i couldnt recognize) and how he took out the hollow like it was a pion or something.

manga:isshin
anime:sucks donkey **** (not as vulgar as u may think, but still inapropriate)

if they don't remove the stupid filler dolls i'm gonna give up on the anime forever and stick to the manga (until HAG appears... that i gotta see)

Ryuuken for the best entrance.

Isshin for the closure aka badass stance after a victory.

Ryuuken, Isshin's entrance was far too casual. When you got power and surprises like that you need to flaunt that crap around.

Krahiz
01-22-2007, 08:45 AM
Ryuuken ofcourse, he just comes in there like badass and slays the hollow with no break of sweat then he just looks at Uryuu in the kinda way that he says "OMG!! YOU SUCK!"

Isshin.

Why? Because unlike Ryuuken, I DIDN'T SEE IT COMING!

Was I the only one who, when hearing what Ryuuken said in the flashback way back in the beginning, thought he just meant that he has powers, but decided not to use them? Seriously, I saw this coming from a mile away. Granted, I didn't think he was this strong, but I figured he could still do everything that Ishida could.

I prefer Ryuuken's entrances, Isshin's entrance was ruined by his badly drawn face.

Ishhin had a better entrance in my opinion. He's the one that left me saying "NO WAIIIII!!!" I definitely didn't see that coming. While on the other hand, Ryuuken was kinda like "Ahhh, another one is running around here now!"...if you know what I mean.

Ryuuken's owned like it should have.

Pwning a menos grande with regen powers like he was taking a stroll in the park.... which he just happened to be doing. I mean it was so fucking pwnage that it caused grandfisher to revert into a caveman

we probably have a lot of lurking members who don't read the manga but do watch the anime who were more surprised at Isshin turning up, for the regular posters most of them read the manga and were probably a bit underwhelmed

*votes ryuuken*

Both were equally great in my opinion. Ryuuken was bad@ss in slaughtering that hollow, and Isshin was bad@ss in owning GF with one slice. The mod souls didn't ruin Isshin too much. :) You can't really ruin an entrance by screaming in surprise. At least, their expression matched the event.

Was I the only one who, when hearing what Ryuuken said in the flashback way back in the beginning, thought he just meant that he has powers, but decided not to use them? Seriously, I saw this coming from a mile away.

On the contrary, the moment I saw Isshin smoking and having that serious conversation with Ichigo on his wife's grave I had a feeling that something is up with him. You just don't make comical relief characters look all serious and badass like that.

Also the difference in strength is also what strengthened Ryuuken's entrance for me. I mean, there you've got young Ishida, who's always talking about "Quincy pride" and him being the Last Quincy, rivals the main character, gets massive power boost and defeats a captain...

And then his father comes and explains to him that he is less than shit. Priceless.

Now if only kids could die and let their dads run the show
