I dont remember too much about Darkness, but i think BB could absorb him along with his spooky familiars.

For those, like me, who didn't know much about The Darkness, here is a wikipedia entry to save the day (or just elaborate this opponent)!

The comic's central theme is the power known as The Darkness, and its wielders. It is an ageless power dating back beyond human history. It is linked with the Angelus and the Witchblade. The Darkness is passed down a family line from father to son, leaving the previous user (and taking his life) as his first child is conceived. The power then manifests in the child on his 21st birthday. Darkness users can create anything they desire with the darkness, even sentient beings, but anything they make will crumble to dust in the light. The Darkness powers are quite deadly, allowing the user to call forth darkling minions to aid them, and even survive gunshots. The power can also be used to maul and feed on people.

The Darkness powers do not function unless it is dark, but some users can also manipulate this by creating their own shadows/darkness e.g smoke grenades, being underground, turning off lights in a room, etc. Wherever there is light, there is always darkness.

The powers of the darkness allow Jackie to make just about anything he can think of: he has created things like tentacles, which are very strong and can lift a full-grown man, and later on, he is able to make a gun out of The Darkness. He's also able to summon minions called Darklings, which rip his enemies apart in packs and which come in all sorts of different sizes and shapes. It is also possible that The Darkness may enhance Jackie's strength, durability and speed, but only while The Darkness is working. In one instance, Jackie dove off a converted oil rig and swam down until there wasn't any light. At this point, he was able to utilize the Darkness to cover his body and transform into his armor, enabling him to breath underwater. This could also presumably used to survive a poisonous gas, but this has not been proven as yet. Also, Jackie is very skilled at killing in many different forms. He uses many different guns, his favorite being 9mm pistols, but he also uses other guns as well and is also good at hand-to-hand combat.

Well, from this observation, I'd say that Blackbeard has the strength and ability/skill advantage. Also, unless it's dark out, the Darkness is going to find it very difficult to even take on the likes of BB. So in the end, Blackbeard should be able to deal with The Darkness with fair ease.

Um, cant really comment much on the fight itself. Due to my lack of Knowledge on Black Beard.
(I have not kept up in OP lately. - I really dislike the art>_<)

And like someone pointed out, it depends on weather The Darkness fights in the Daylight or Nigh Time.
Or if He has a blend, ware The Darkness fights with many shadows (like a forest for example).

In any case, The Darkness has no limitations to how much he can absorb himself. (Having absorbed entire ghost towns, and even had the potential to absorb an actual town before he stopped himself).

And I seriously doubt you would want to absorb, The Darkness into itself.

Edit- If anyone could help. Can you point out what Chapter Black Beard finally makes his fighting debut. I stopped reading when Luffy’s brother was about to challenge him to a fight.

Edit- I’m sorry to say that In day light, if Black Beard attempts to attack Jackie with his Lugia powers would mean failure.

In the Dark, Black Beard is screwed.

Anywho, Blackbeard appareantly has raw power and he's not afraid to use it, he uses the Darkness power in a raw way, so in terms of power BB>>Darkness.

That is not a good thing you know.

It’s a destructive power that will not, harm Jackie.

Well. I've read a lot of Marvel, not much Darkness. I say... BB's overwhelming crafts of darkness simply overpowers the control. Plus, he owned fucking Ace.

Ace is the 2nd commander of Whitebeard's fleet if I recall. WB=strongest man.

The nature of that power does not harm him.
Their isn’t much Black Beard can do to Jackie, using that power. Ace would be a more of a challenge to Jackie, because of the nature of his power in relevance to Jackie’s weakness.

On the other hand Black Beard could even attempt to suck Jackie into the void (or Black Hole). Unfortunately Jackie can escape no problem. And manipulate it.

Even worse for Black Beard, Jackie can absorb BB into himself with out escape.
And Jackie power also extends to a Town level. This prior to Jackie attaining knowledge on how to manipulate the darkness.

The melding of both The Darkness and The Witchblade was causing Ian to have unsurpassed power.
That power could not be controlled either, the world was going to end because of it.

Ian w/Witch Blade and The Darkness = Massive amount of Curbstomping over Black Beard.
