Storyline-wise showings is to take priority over game mechanics. I am not including spin-offs like DoC. Game and movie only for Team FFVII. Bloodlust is on for both sides' villains. PIS/CIS still on for everyone else.

Any other questions, just ask.

Cloud's finishing touch or Knights of the Round would eat all of them. Lol.

Trance Kuja "destroyed a world" singlehandedly, in a matter of minutes.

And Necron was even more powerful than him (and of course, the heroes even stronger).

FFIX takes this in a curbstomp.

Zidane + Kuja are teh pwnage, and while garnet would summon Arc, Odin, Bahamut and Alexander...

Steiner slices though all the FFVII failures with exacaliber 2,while Garnet and Eko casually reign death from above. Everyone else has pina colada's on the beach.

Who would win in a fight? FFVII takes this, Knights of Round is cheap as hell.

Which is the better Game? FFIX easy, FFVII is (in my opinion) one of the most overrated video games ever made. FFIX on the other hand, was one of the best of the FF series.

FF7 would win, for the fact alone. A man that wears a binkini winning would sadden me....Sorry guys I played FF9 a couple of times...but Kuja fails for me.....he makes Orchimaru look like chuck norris....<.<

I don't get why people love FF7 so much. I didn't like it. I mean, the graphics, the gameplay, and yeah...Sephiroth, what's his motivation? No, not to bring back "mother" and to go back to the Promised Land or whatever. so what if Kuja wears a thong and Zidane doesn't have spikey hair?

FF9 in a curbstomp. Garnet summons Atomos to suck the FF7verse up easily.

I dont know...look is also needed along with story. For me atleast. I mean you get a baddass and he wears a thong, it just makes you laugh. One thing that hurts one piece for me, great show, dont get me wrong, and one of my fav, but te badd guys sometimes fall short.

Anyway thats off topic...yes ff9 verse would win this unfornatly....

FF7 wins as a better game.

FF9 kind of had a Disney feel to it.

Anybody think the last boss of FF9 just came out of nowhere? I know I'm not the only one who went WTF when they saw Necron.

I don’t remember well but I think Shephirot can’t fly unlike Trance Kuja. Trance Kuja showed us Dragon Ball level powers, he could fly and fire ki blasts at will.
If Kuja>Shephirot, that means Zidane>Cloud.

Power Wise, well FFIX has Kuja and some other tricks in his sleeve like the Ark, FFVII has the weapons, Sephiroth, KOTR and near invincible characters by game mechanics but I guess FFIX could take this by a little margin.

As a game, FFVII pawns FFIX real hard, in his age FFVII was (and still is) a myth, FFIX was ok.

Zindane pwns....
LMAO

Everyone has his own opinion and yours is as valid as anyone's but IMO Zidane is nominated to the worst main character in a FF ever

I disagree. Kuja may be stronger than Sephiroth, but I don't think this necessarily makes Zidane stronger than Cloud. There haven't really been that many big feats that Zidane's done, but Cloud's done some crazy shit. In a fight between Cloud and Zidane, Cloud would definitely win.

Same way I felt. I thought kuja would be the final boss, then all of a sudden necron just comes out of nowhere. And he was a pretty easy final boss

Necron is probably a nod to Zeromus of FFIV.

FFVII was (and still is) a myth,

I can agree that FFVII's greatness is indeed a myth.

Hmmm... I liked FFIX more then FFVII (mostly due to characters having roles instead of all being generics), and Zidane has shown feats comparable to AC Cloud, which is far beyond what is shown be FFVII Cloud. Also, Kuja had the power to destroy a dimension. Zidane was created to be far more powerful then Kuja. What is Cloud? A measly Sephiroth clone. I think FFIX has this won, if not just because the main character never says "Lets Mosey" and he's not emo.

Wait...what exactly did Kuja do that was so impressive? Oh yeah, he obtained a temporary limit break like form of power, then was told he would die and went to pieces.

Sephiroth obtained a level of power allowing him to destroy planets with a massive meteor. Not to mention the weapons, the weapon monsters were much harder than anything I saw in FFIX.

Ozma was a big floating orb....wow...impressive.

The animations of the FFVII summonings would have been more impressive too if they had fully rendered movies to show them off. We have to go with what we saw and I find summonings like the knights of the round and bahamut zero more impressive than the eidolons of FFIX.

Not to mention the pheonix summoning which can keep you alive. FFVII also had far more impressive weapon technology. The sister ray and cloud prod make any weapons in FFIX look like play toys.

I have also yet to see Zidane really do anything on par with the level of the things cloud and his team have done. Someone please explain to me what they did.

The only way in which FFIX is superior is in graphics, and if they ever remake FFVII on a future console they'll be superior in that as well. One thing I hated in FFVIII and IX was that the last boss was a mystery up until the end, why do I give a shit about beating Ultimecia and Necron, they haven't done anything to me directly, they are meaningless.

Sephiroth on the other hand attacks and plagues you throughout the game, giving you a motivation to kill his ass.

Incorrect. Kuja's Trance was unlike any other Trance around as he augmented it by drawing on the power of the souls of the Invincible. He said it himself that a "normal Trance" wouldn't be enough. The reason it's nto enough is unclear. Perhaps because a typical Trance is too short. With his augmented Trance, he sustained that power and form until he was moments away from death.

Sephiroth obtained a level of power allowing him to destroy planets with a massive meteor.

The Black Materia is not Sephiroth's power. It's a materia created before Sephirothw as ever born and hidden so it could never be used. If it couldn't be used, the Cetra would never have hidden it. Aeris herself said that the Black Materia can only be used when the user's power is increased and backed by the power of the Planet. Sephirtoh needed the Planet's energies to manage to pull off that summon.

Not to mention the weapons, the weapon monsters were much harder than anything I saw in FFIX.

The WEAPONs were created by the Planet long before Sephiroth existed. They were made to stop Jenova. Besides, the most they ever did was blow a small hole in a part of Junon and knock down Shinra HQ. Or part of Shinra HQ.

The animations of the FFVII summonings would have been more impressive too if they had fully rendered movies to show them off. We have to go with what we saw and I find summonings like the knights of the round and bahamut zero more impressive than the eidolons of FFIX.

Odin vaporized Cleyra in one blow.

Atomos swallowed an entire section of Lindblum.

Bahamut destroyed Brahne's fleet.

Alexander only partially manifested with its wings around Alexandria Castle yet it still beat Bahamut easily.

FFVII summons, save for Bahamut Sin in AC, did nothing to the world. They're not part of the story.

Not to mention the pheonix summoning which can keep you alive. FFVII also had far more impressive weapon technology. The sister ray and cloud prod make any weapons in FFIX look like play toys.

The Invincible can corrupt sumons, cause tsunamis, send down energy enough to wreck a city and then continually grow stronger by sucking up the souls of those it kills and feeding upon them.

The Sister Ray took a very long time to power-up. The Invincible could wipe it out long before it did anything. Not to mention the cannons of Lindblum's airships. They could vaporize Silver Dragon in one hit. A Silver Dragon was pretty tough. You had to fight one in the game.

I have also yet to see Zidane really do anything on par with the level of the things cloud and his team have done. Someone please explain to me what they did.

His stunts in the Iifa Tree when he went to rescue Kuja.

One thing I hated in FFVIII and IX was that the last boss was a mystery up until the end, why do I give a shit about beating Ultimecia and Necron, they haven't done anything to me directly, they are meaningless.

Ultamecia was controlling Edea and then Rinoa and generally screwing up the world.

Necron was a nod to Zeromus of FFIV.

The only way in which FFIX is superior is in graphics, and if they ever remake FFVII on a future console they'll be superior in that as well.

Doubtful that will ever happen. But, it doesn't matter as FFVII still falls very short in terms of music, characters and definitely villains.

Sephiroth on the other hand attacks and plagues you throughout the game, giving you a motivation to kill his ass.

I wanted to kill him for the blatant stupidity of his character's motivations.

Here I was, ready to make a rant about Tsukiyomi's post, and then The Anti-Existence made a post with every argument I wanted to bring up, and even a few I forgot. Props to you, TAE.
