I have a chance to watch the entire series but I'm not sure. Could someone please tell me how this series stands up to the timeline? Also if it's any good or if it's one of those, "Avoid it like the plague" types. Thanks in advance.

What timeline? It's completely alternate universe.
It's definatly the goofiest of the serious gundam shows, so if you couldn't stand seeing a gundam that looks like a windmill or a boat, you might have problems.
But the designs of the main gundams are masterful (God Gundam is the basis for Wing Zero) and the characters I will love forever. It's a nice romance, so even though I don't much like most gundams, I love this one. It's my favorite out of all of them, although I haven't seen Turn A.

G Gundam is good for what it is. Thing is, you can't be going into it expecting it to be like the other gundams...because it's not. It's more "Street Fighter meets Mecha". But, I will admit, the main designs are cool, and the Bakunetsu God Finger is pretty badass Xd

Least favorite Gundam show, but for what it was I guess it was good, and everyone knows Master Asia is a pimp.

I didn't mean timeline. I ment how it falls in the gundam genre. My mistake.
Alright, it looks like I'll have to give it a shot. Although that "streetfighter meets mecha" doesn't really sound like it's very good. But since it's has some good gundam designs I'll give a chance.

How's the story? Streetfighterish?

Better yet, if I don't watch this series, will I be missing much?

Short answer since there is a typing limit and I just can't type "no" and be done with it...no...

Missing much? Not really; I mean, the stories cool and all, but it doesn't pertain to much else. The story isn't street fighterish, it's kind of a love story with...lots of mech fighting. It's a bunch of hand to hand stuff, which is cool, and they have super moves, which are badass. I'd suggest watching some of the first eps, if it doesn't suit you, switch to about half way through when Domon gets the God Gundam; the action gets a helluva lot better from there

Okay. Gonna go watch some episodes. I'll skip some if the series gets dull. Thanks again.

G Gundam is the best. I've always hated Gundam, but G Gundam is awsome. Great characters, great plot, GREAT ending, drawing ...ehh, so-so. But I absolutly loved it. WATCH IT. Then tell me where your gonna watch it so I can watch it again :D

Well I've already started to watch a few. I'm skipping to see the God Gundam. Is it me or are some these designs for the gundams really out there?

Oooooh yeah, some of them are.. >_>' They 'represent' the country they fight for, more than often. Though how Chibodee Crocket is American, I'll NEVER fuckin' understand...queer looking mofo ;)

Hahaha! No kidding. When I saw the lumberJack canadian gundam I was half expecting him to start tossing acidic maple syrup.

Yeah. It's official. Aside from watching the various 'interesting' designs, I'm not a fan of this series. All they really needed to add was the african gundam to shoot lions or something. Come on. Anyway, back to stalking the gundam FC forum. Thanks again everybody for the help.

G Gundam was ok, storyline was kinda dull but the fights are nice. The gundam design itself was like one of the first gundam shows to have like customed gundams like dragon and others that other gundams were designed on.

May I make a comment?

Honestly, I hated G Gundam. Sure, some of the gundam designs were absolutely ridiculous, but some were ok.

I wish I could say the same for the storyline. It sucked

Mobile Fighter G Gundam is a Gundam series you will either love or hate.

Love, in terms that it's not your typical Gundam. The Gundam fights are, quite to say, good. The characters are well developed and the story has a somewhat interesting premise.

Hate, because it's not that serious. Some Gundams featured in the series are downright ridiculous.

Eventually, if you just like a different Gundam series for a change, watch it. Otherwise, if you want serious wars and such, watch something else.

Yeah this series kicks ass. I only watched it on Toonami but it was good. Then I saw the japanese version and it is WAYYY better. It might turn off some Gundam fans since it's like a DBZ/ Streetfighter thing. But it still really coo. And Burning Gundam is the shit and it's ultimate attack(forgot the name) is just cool.

Also rumors have it there might be a sequel.

The Sekihah Tenkyoken? It was pretty cool (as well as the Bakunetsu God Finger) but overall...eh. It was oaky.

Nothing beats the ultimate technique they used at the last episode: the "Bakunetsu God Finger Sekiha Love Love Tenkyoken". :D

Indeed, "Love Love" beats all!

Master Asia's death made me sad though.

It was a good show.
The show also used a title system with cards. I thought that was pretty funny. The suit up scenes were kind of odd with them screaming and moaning while they were getting dressed :confused .
I liked how the countries fought for planet through a tournament. i think we should do that as well, only with people fighting in tournaments. a martial arts tournament.
