Chads power is....? Some spoilers

I've been wondering for awhile about chads powers are in the manga chapter 224 Urahara said that in order to increase chads powers he needs to fight against a bankai. So This made me believe that chads power grows when he fights stronger opponents for a long time and they eventually adapt and grow in order to match that opponents level of strength. such as in soul society he power seemed to grow as he was continuously fighting against death gods of increasing power and even in his fight against Shunsui at the end he fired a blast that was stronger than any of his others.

Also Urahara said that his power was not of a quincy or a shinigami. And when the Arrancar's swords powers gave them armor in made me think of chads arm so i was thinking that his power might be something like a hollow.

Of course i could be completely off and retarded but i figured i would share my ideas with you guys and hopefully hear some of your own? or you could just make fun of me doesn't really matter

in the manga urahara says that chad can become more power like ichigo and ichida they keep getting more powerful

i agree with your opion that urahara said that but there are still more chapter until we see progress in their powers

Well, Urahara says 'almost like'. But the theory has some appeal. Maybe because it is an emotional attachment to that 'gift from abuelo' (a pendant).

yeah well when watching the anime his arm surrounds him kinda like ichigos hollow mask and when he gained his powers he was fighting a hollow so i may have been correct in saying that his powers grow to what he is facing but these are just crackpot theories

also hollows are often associated with Mexican names and chad is Mexican just another trivial thing i though id point out

The whole Chad power boost really surprized me. I would like to see more story development but I havent read Bleach in awhile because it started to seem like it was getting boring.

I like that Idea. I always figured as much as the colors on his arm does match those not only of the mexican army, but of Hollows as well. So, maybe Chad's a Human/ Hollow halfbreed. However, if this was true, Chad would most likely have a hollow inside of him, but then again, maybe the whole hollow taking over only affects those who are in a spirit form or separates from their bodies to use their powers like Ichigo.

Since the scene shifted to a hollow just before Urahara said what Chad's power really was, I think that's a pretty good clue. As for the theory that his powers adapt to face stronger opponents, well, that's pretty true for many things. You train to get stronger, and when you are stronger, you need tougher training. That's how it usually works.

I think that the stage of human is the divergence point that differentiates shinigami and hollow. I mean, a human can become either when their chains are severed; Ichigo became both, after all. I think chad's power comes from a dormant hollow that likely resides inside everyone. He is tapping it without awakening it, and I'm guessing his latent shinigami power, which was probably formed from the atmospheric reiatsu, is keeping the hollow dormant. Something like that.

His power is probably from being around Ichigo's reiatsu for so long. Ichigo didn't know how to control his reiastsu so it was always unreleased... I figure thats why Chad and Inoue have their powers. So he's just a special human with higher reiatsu or something.

Chad has always been enveloped in mystery. even before he met ichigo in Spirit/Shinigami form he were very strong and could even survive getting Huge blocks of steel in the neck without uttering something that looked like pain.

i think chads powers are definitly derived from some hollow power. i mean did u see his new shield looks just like some kind of hollow shield. look at chapter 259 to see his new shild thing.

yes it now Confirmed by chad himslef that his powers are a hollow, cool that someone came up with this theory some time ago tho :)
