I'm slightly confused...

I heard that Gundam SEED is supposedly very good so I decided to try and give it a watch. However I'm confused due to the number of different Gundam series...

Do I need to watch Gundam Wing and all of the others to understand Gundam SEED? And is Gundam SEED: Destiny part of Gundam SEED, or a new series all together?

If possible, can someone list the best ones (in order of story, if they are related) so it is easier for me to find and download them...

You dont need to have watched ANY of the previous Gundam series to enjoy Seed. Seed takes place in a compleatly seperate universe/timeline from the other Gundam series, so you can watch Seed and understand it without needing to see the other series. Just make sure you watch Seed before Seed Destiny.

Gundam SEED Destiny is the series that picks up the story two years after Gundam SEED.

So, I suggest you watch SEED first, then Destiny.

hmmm...you don't have to watch the others to undestand seed,i think theres a new series called gundam seed stargazer,right?i heard it frm my friends,but not sure if it was true

Gundam SEED = Cosmic Era 70-71
Gundam SEED Destiny = Cosmic Era 72-73
Gundam SEED Stargazer takes place in the midst of Destiny as a side story.

Cosmic Era is the timeline refference and has NOTHING to do with other Gundam series except SEED, Destiny and Stargazer, so watch them in the order provided above me and those I listed =)

stargazer though isnt a must. to get the gist of everything, u really only need to watch seed since destiny wasnt all that good. it expanded on the story but not by much. stargazer's relationship to destiny is so thin though. the only thing is the junius 7 and the coordinator/naturals rivalry thing

Stargazer is only for real fans of the series not much there.......Kind of boring too.
