Gif sub forum

I think it would be pretty neat if there is a gif sub forum, possibly located in the Konoha Graphics Studio under the request sub forum

I know there is a thread where u can post on the general gif thread, or make ur own thread ~ But i think it will be more convenient if there's a thread solely based on the animes u want to see ~

So if a gif sub forum is created ... there can be thread like Bleach, Naruto, One Piece and other animes that contains animated gif based rather than 1 thread containing many animes ...

This would be neat but their is only a handful of gif artists like you, TBH, Kira, Bass, Moondoggie, Scared Link, Raptor and a few others whom I forgot.

I am just worried that their will be a decent amount of times of users stealing from Google and claiming its theirs than fighting over what to do with them and all.

I'll bring this up with the staff in a bit, since I don't really do gifs so I don't want to make your hopes high than end up destroying them. XD

I mean, I am more a fungif maker rather than a style gif maker, but a gif maker nontheless, and I would appreciate such a subforum.

Anyway, some random mod or admin is most likely going to destroy us with some uber arguments soon. -_-

I do not mean to brush this off to Mars or anything, but this suggestion isn't a well-thought out one.

The consequences for a sub-forum only dedicated to GIF format GFX is very high: no activity (due to a low percent of GIF-makers) and if there was activity--that would all be made up of spam. That spam includes: requests, side-talkings, mindless rants, meaningless/ignorant questions, etc.

Why should there be a sub-forum just for... GIF format GFX when the General Avatar Gif thread (http://forums.narutofan.com/showthread.php?t=123489) is barely managing life? Avatars/Icons are really what the only GIF format is used for. And if the Avatar Gif thread isn't running head on, why make an entire sub-forum for it?

Part 3 ... the post doesnt have to count like they do in the request sub forum if you are concern of spams

Part 2 ... perhaps that is the point to increase the lvl of interest making gif in the forum

And i am more thinking in the lines where for every episode released ... ppl generally make giffies, right? And it would be convenient for members who havent/have seen the newly released episode to see a gif based on that episode

And Kira made a nice tutorial how to make a gif .. and it would be awesome if that thread was in the subforum, for new ppl who are interest'd in making gif. And they can post their work afterwards ...

And the general avatar gif thread ... yeah ~ Not much activity since it is comprised of just 1 thread on many animes. But u cannot judge the activity just based on that thread alone. There are members who have the ability making gif, but we are just unaware of it bc they dont post in that thread or whatnot

that's not the point...the point is that the threads can easily go off topic....people who want to make a request should stay in the request subforum, people who want to discuss the series should go to the series thread in konoha TV channel 12, people who just want to gab should take it to FCs.

not to mention that if a thread was to be completely just gifs...it would kill someone's internet....kind of like how my gif thread is doing to people's internets at the moment...:oh

Me, Kira, and you are like the only people that make gifs from recent eps of a series.

However, I only stick with Death Note since I've been taking a break from gif making.

I don't see how hard it would be for someone to search my gif thread, Kira's or the general thread for a specific anime series...since we do label what series our gifs are from.

It is a nice tut...but it still belongs in the tut subforum. The people that read the tut actually do post their gifs in the tutorial thread to show how it came out.

If people have a general interest, they will go into the tutorials subforum and find the tut. Having it in a gfx subforum will make it less likely to be found since most people who go through the gfx subforum are people that do gfx or request a piece of gfx...not people who want to do gfx themselves.


I don't see a subforum really raising the interest in gif making. People's avatars and signatures should be enough for users to go "oh cool...I want to do that"...then they will look for Kira's tut in the tutorials subforum...find out they need PS/IR and then ask where to get those. Some will give up just on the fact of how to get IR....others will get it and then make gifs.

A subforum just for gifs will just turn out to be a place where the only people that post in there will be people who already make gifs and people requesting gifs....

The activity of the general gif thread does give you the idea of how many people are willing to post their gifs.....=/

I generally think it's a bad idea to have "series specific" threads.

Lack of actual gif makers on the forum willing to share their work and this really not having that much of a purpose = No

I think it's not a very good idea. Like it was said before, the gif makers are just a few, and there could be a lot of stealing. Nothing makes an artist more pissed than having his or her art stolen. I know it because I don't like it when it happens =/
