View Full Version : Fucking hell, that was close.
Steelers over the Jets in OT, close one. The Jets just played their third straight overtime game.
You'd think the Jets would learn. Last week, the Chargers stopped trying to move the ball and Kaeding missed a 40-yard game winner wide right from the right hash (Final: 20-17, OT). This week, the Jets stopped trying to move the ball and Brien missed a 43-yard game winner wide left from the left hash (Final: 20-17, OT).
Brien missed two field goals at the end, one from 47 yards and one from 43. But that's not really surprising, Heinz Field's swirling winds and often-muddy middle of the field kill kickers. No visitor has ever made a FG longer than 48 yards at Heinz Field. And Brien, I'm pretty sure, was kicking into the open end on the 47-yarder, which is REALLY hard to kick to, since there's usually a wind in your face that shortens the kick. Hence, he dinged the crossbar.

Sucks for you, you just went through 3 straight OT games, two in the playoffs. Jets fans have got to be frazzled right now, that's a lot of tension. I recommend a large dose of Vicodin.
::his head down in shame::

Because we have Big Ben, Duce, the Bus, Reed, Polamalu, Ward, Burress, Randle El, and Cowher. Not too mention we function as a team even when are backs are against the wall. Thanks to the Jets, I have even more hope for the Steelers even when the shit has hit the fan.
:wOOt Steelers
Football? Oh good! I can be the Bar Wench!
Beer coming right up!
btw, what's a football? :huh
The great thing about the Steelers is, when one player starts playing subpar, we can just go to the other 54 guys. Roethlisberger didn't have his best game, so Bettis and Staley just ran over the Jets' front seven and the defense surrendered a whopping three points (the TD's were special-teams and defensive).

Hope Rams-falcons game will also be a close one. Right now is interesting. But my Rams are in trouble. I've been a rams fan since 1998, and it would deeply saden me to see them lose.

I like to see the Patriots and Steelers go at each other again. The last time they met, I think it was an unfair match, for lack of a better word, so maybe the next time around it will be a better game.
I agree Big Ben wasn't doing his best here and there, but at least he pulled through and where he made mistakes, the rest of the team pulled through. Kind of a strong sense of brotherhood that you get from watching them play.

Can't stop the Bus, man. And the Falcons, what they did to the Rams... As a local Bucs fan who wears a Falcons hat outside, I remind my friends who are Falcons fans that Warrick Dunn ran for the Bucs and that Rich McKay worked for the Bucs before over-rated Gruden ("look at me, I can win a Super Bowl with a team Tony Dungy built!") and the genius Glazers ran him out of town.
