first, the site you listed, if the site has nothing to do with warez or softwares that you have to pay for but you crack to free... it should'nt be listed. people get banned for that. i use photoshop 8.0. but now im hearing that it's not all that big and that there are better programs better than ps. any clue on what they are?

A better program does not mean better images, it all depends on the artist's. you should use the program that you are familiar with, learn it, and master it.

I have seen some friggin incredible stuff done on MS paint wich clearly shows that you can do anything with anything.

the formula is simple

pick a graphics program, and stick with it, then familiarize yourself with its functions - learn them, and master your graphics program. but in the end, nothing like this makes you good.

It al depends on how artisticaly motivated you are. Some call it talent, I call it an instinctive choice. A choice you made instinctive early in life that made you dedicate and form your life style around art. If you dont have this, to bad, you can work as hard as you want or master your medium, it does not mather. You will never be as good as people who are gifted with the instinctive choice.

Some people pick this up in their teens and some as early as the age of 2, combine this with hard work and it makes the choice of any program obsolete. because you have what it takes to be good.

Hear ye, hear ye. I agree. There's also plenty of helpful tutorials out there to help you get used to any graphic programs.. I use Adobe Photoshop 7.0 and Image Ready 7.0. Than there's MS Paint but sometimes I just use that for oekaki.

I use PS 7 and I'm really satisfied with that!
It has lots of useful functions IMO.
My main work is done by hand so the result doesn't really depend on the graphic programm I use..."call it talent, call it instinctive choice" - hehe.

I am currently using Photoshop 6. I am thinking in installing the CS that i have on cd, a little crack will do the trick. And maybe re-downloading C4D sometime.
