- Yu-Gi-Oh! (hell, 4kids basically added lame dialoge and edited all the cool scenes in the japanese version)
-Dragonball Z/GT (actaully DB was done okay in my opinion, but funi added too many corny lines into this one and edited out too many things from the originals)
-Digimon (ehhh, first season was the one and ONLY decent seson. everything else was done horribly)
-Shaman King (ehhh, watched half an ep and pointed out so many changes)

well the dubs were okay, but they shoulda added more OP and ED. after ep 13 where the OP is suppose to be Moment, now it looks like there gonna stick to the first OP and ED for the rest of the dub version

Seriously, for being one of the first shojo anime's out there in the states....the dubbing was horrible. Dic TOTALLY chopped Sailor Moon into a million pieces and "tried" to put it back together so the kiddies might enjoy. OBVIOUSLY WE DIDN'T.

like all of them....though i didnt mind DBZ, but, only because i got so annoyed with the high pitched japanese voices...oh, and Ghost in the Shell dubs werent bad either. bebop was ok. all others totally ruined the experience for me. for the love of god, how hard is it to get the accents right???

I'd probably have to agree with almost everything. But it's funny no one even listed CardCaptor Sakura. Changing the genre to appeal to guys as well wasn't a bad choice but changing the series title to make it fit was redundant. Not to mention Nelvana or whatever skipped the first 7 episodes and never took consistency in their dubbing.

The Cowboy Bebop dub was excellent, so was Ghost in The shell. I don't know why people are complaining about the English versions when you fucking speak the fucking language every day, but u rather hear a foreign language that u don't even understand for most of you and read text while trying to catch on the action. I admit some dubs are not so good but they try their best to at least give you something. Be happy that they even dub Anime period.

In the case of having only one choice, then complaining about dubs would make no sense, and in fact complaining about dubs regardless makes no sense since there's a choice involved nowadays, but saying it sucks when you don't like the voices isn't really so out of line. You like what you like, and you don't like what you don't like. This is especially true when you have the choice of dubs or subs. Mind you only in the case of dubs that are considered bad, it then comes down to reading text and hearing acting that you think is good (unless you understand the language), or watching dubs that someone may think is bad. Reading text isn't really so bad when it comes down to it unless a lot of text is being read through an action scene though.

People don't god-damn listen to the voice acting in Japanese unless they understand the language. They all read the subs and maybe infuse it with the voice. That's it. They pay more attention to the voice acting when it's in English, hence why some idiots complain that "Naruto says Believe it too much."

Seriously, Sailor Moon's dub is one of the worse I've ever seen. I hardly could watch it even for five minutes. The names, voices, cutting, dialogue.. everything was so fucked up. (Even Finnish dubbed Digimon wasn't as bad though everyone hates it. It just had awful voice actors, but at least they kept the original names and didn't cut or change anything.)

well to me, i listen to japanese voices because that's how it was meant to be shown. there are certain sounds that just dont sound right in english. not that it's exotic.

example: samurai champloo in episode 23 when mugen gets two bats, he makes this weird noise that sounds hilarious but it would make u sound like a retard in english. also, its just stuff like removing the honorifics, the inflections, or endings like de gozaru or dattebayo.

i mean, in the dubs, naruto always says believe it! in the dubs which makes him sound like a fucking douche. dattebayo definitely sounds better. in Love Hina, apparently narusegawa naru is too hard to say, so they only say naru but they inflections are totally off.

but yeah, thats my reasoning.

i guess it's just because we watched too much of the subd version's of japanese anime.. and when you relate that to watching anything in a dubbd version. it just sounds too wierd..

also, a lot of stuff get's cut in dubbd anime's.. to "censor" some of the information.

elfen lied - i just loved how lucy said "nyu" was prob my favorite cute sounding voice ever! then i saw some dubbd versions on youtube.. well the voice actor in there just couldnt match up.. that is my opinion tho..

Cardcaptor Sakura was completely destroyed. I liked it when I was like 5..but this year I saw the original in Japanese, and it was soo much better. "Cardcaptors" had horrid voice actors, destroyed plot, and mixed up timeline. Eh.
