live action AKIRA movie

Dunno if anybody heard about this but...according to darkhorizon WB is going to produce a live action AKIRA movie.

As if that wasn't a bad enough news....the man they chose to direct the movie is PISSOFF..ex-squeeze me...i mean PITOF.

This is the man who was responsible for that movie disaster that i'm sure some of you have heard of ...CATWOMAN./CINO.


Anyhoo...any thought on this?..personally i think it's a bad move.AKIRA is fine just the way it is.No need for a live action version.Definitely not a WB version.

Meh. Anime's the hot thing. There're a lot of anime movies in production right now, supposedly. Akira, Dragonball Z, Evangelion, etc.

WHAT!? That's horrible news! Boo, just leave it as the anime cause it already kicks ass. If they make it into a movie and especially if it's done by the person who did catwoman *gag* then it's gonna taint the anime movie. Gah, I can't believe this....the destruction of a classic *shakes head in shame*.

I think some of the live action anime movies will be interesting but most will probably suck big time. but can't have low hopes for the Akira Live Action movie. maybe it'll turn out like Resident Evil did. I hope that it'll even turn out even better.

I don't think Akira will make a very good live action flick...

Good anime, incredible manga...hell yeah! But not live action...

The thing is...given WB proven track records of never respecting the source materials,the AKIRA live action movie will be a travesty with probably little....or nothing to do at all with the source material.

I'm pretty sure it'll be crap compared to the original animation version. And I'm pretty sure they'll mess around with the story.
