The thing about Star Wars is that most scifi forces are either way weaker than it and would lose easily, or way stronger than it and would beat it easily.

I think the Covenant's warriors would tear through the Empire's in a soldier to soldier battle, but that's about the only situation they would find victory. Palpatine's group has the advantage everywhere else. It would still be interesting to see how the Stormtrooper's armor stands up against the Covenant's weapons. They would get slaughtered in melee though by the Elites, Brutes, and Hunters. I'd even wager to say that those three races are even more fearsome than Wookies in terms of what they'd do to a human in physical combat.

Empire for the fact they're much larger and if you read the Star Wars EU, Palpatine once attacked a enemy fleet with a lightning storm so large that it almost destroyed his own.

However, Stormtroopers have the worst aim in any universe, and they're overall wimps, so it's a close one.

^I have to agree with that. With their shields, it's difficult to just shoot directly at their bodies. It takes quite an amount of bullets from the Assault rifle to just shoot them in the head. Plus, they have fuel rod cannon, which makes them formidable opponents. Of course, sith lords would be able to deal with them and not the darktroopers :sweatdrop

Halo Game spoiler, dont read if you're still new...this is halo + halo 2

basically, there are more than just one Halo. They're all weapons built by the forerunners to wipe out life in the universe to starve the Flood to death. However, Cortana the female AI unit was able to discover this.

On the other hand, the retard Covenants worship the Halos as sacred objects. They think the activation of Halo will bring them salvation and open the way to heaven or some weird crap like that I cant recall excatly. As of he end of Halo 2, one of the remaining Covenant Prophets is heading Earth to activate Halo (or all of them!?) since it turns out Earth is the remote control place or something......dont recall the exact names shrug.

So yeah, how stupid can they get?

In terms of brute force on a solider for solider scale, I'd say the Covenant would definiely have the advantage. Brutes and Hunters are insane

That's the Forerunner's weapon, not the Covenant.

Not to mention that it's absolutely pointless in this fight considering it's a Flood containment weapon that simply wipes out everybody. Additionally, a single Halo installation isn't enough to wipe out all life in the galaxy; it takes the simultaneous firing of all seven installations to accomplish that.

The Banshee is only a ground support craft, think of it as an Apache Helicopter. The Covenant has a fighter called the Seraph, though I don't know what its capabilities are.

Well the Covenant has Halo and the Empire have the Deathstar. Both have been blown up by lone heroes. I think that they'd both just kill each other before one could beat the other.

The Empire has a huge fleet that is wide spread across a whole galaxy. The Covanent Armada spans less than 1/4th the size of the Milky Way. Remember that humanity had only explored the Orion arm of the galaxy.

In terms of technology, the Covenant are better. Shields that can withstand energy weaponry, fast moving capital ships and superior fighter cover (Seraph fighter) and weaponry that can set fire to a planet faster than an Emperial Base Zero attack (scorched earth tactics). Let's not forget that Covenant weaponry is more powerful and have a longer effective range of 1 light second or 300,000 km range.

However, the Empire still has a much larger fleet.

There's a big difference between 'setting fire to a planet' and 'melting off the top layer of the crust'.

And Star Wars has weaponry effective at ranges of millions of kilometers (refer to TESB when they planned to enter the Hoth system from out of the Rebels' sensor range and attack their base before they got the shield up).

theyre supposed to be like some super religious alliance of multiple races.

Jesus, I even see how this is a fight. I don't think the Covenant could take on the Imperium of Man, and frankly (Just judging from the weaponry numbers) Star Wars could take it to them.

The Covenant haven't shown near the planet-wrecking power that a dozen Star Destroyers can do. The fact alone that Earth has been so-far able to openly hold out against the Covenant. You can't do that against the Empire.

Also, Covenant technology being 'more advanced' is so wrong. Star Wars weaponry is way beyond anything the Covenant have. The Empire is geared towards fighting in space, and we've only ever heard of one Covenant Spacefighter. I doubt that they have even an iota of the versatillity and firepower that the Empire has. Hell, they don't even need to land: They'll just anhillate them from the sky.
