Fight takes place in the middle of the desert (my favorite place >.< ).

Out of what we've seen of Saul, who would win?

Before this, I just want clarification on one thing. Did Oda write his name out as "Saul"? Because it's definitely written and pronounced in Japanese as "Saulo" or "Sauro".

I have no clue!

Me and everyone else in the world calls him Saul, so we all know who we're talking about. ^_^

Yeah, I was also leaning toward Saul. I mean, Luffy has some pretty powerful punches, but I don't think they would be able to take down a giant like Saul who could pick up a Buster Call Ship.

I'm pretty sure it's Saulo. Anyways, was it a Buster Call Ship? I can't exactly remember...either way, Luffy should be able to handle Saulo. From what we saw all Saulo had was strength, and Luffy has fought much more versatile opponents than him.

Yes, it was a Buster Call ship. They were there to destroy Ohara.

It was a Buster Call ship Saul "tossed"(a large distance), and it probably weighed at least 500 times more than the gold ball Luffy struggles with. I'm pretty sure Saul far outclassed Luffy in strength.

Though we haven't seen anything else aside from his strength (and durability, he took all those canons with ease) from him due to him not fighting a direct head to head battle in the series. And Luffy also only relies on physical abilities. I'd probably say Saul should definitely win.

Wouldn't be able to take him down? What about Gear 3/third?

A Gear 3rd punch would probably be equal to Saul's stregnth.

I seriously doubt that. I still say Saul >>>> Any SH currently.

luffy for sure, luffy's a very competent fighter

throwing/picking up strength doesn't necessraily equate in battle strength imo

besides luffy took down a giant before(that elbaf on the pre-historic island, even though the guy was injured he still took him down)

Well haven't had a chance to see Saul in battle, well we saw him face the Buster Call ships, he was dominating it, till Aokiji came. He didn't really try to fight back against Aokiji, all he did was try to protect Robin.

The giant was injured (and had been fighting for about 100 years? I believe he also got interrupted due to his meal exploding, so that could be another possibly disadvantage), and as he said, he underestimated Luffy, off course he got up and put a lage mass of rock on Luffy, who was stuck under for quite a while and walked off. But not all giants are equal clearly, or else Usopp is as strong as Mihawk, since they're both humans. I'm sure a Vice Admiral is a skilled fighter.
