I just saw them live, tonight in Atlanta at the Lakewood Amphitheater. Holy shit, I love Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. <3

:wtf

They played the following (but not in this order :P):

Runnin' Down a Dream (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSjCoABxsZ4&mode=related&search=)
Freefalling (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGmEPj7ofJY)
Don't Come Around Here No More (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXG3smMxtAI)
American Girl (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6y2t9Wf6fY)
I Won't Back Down (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3c6okorG4U)
Mystic Eyes
Saving Grace (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gzi1Nnyu7Fk)
Square One (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nLQkVTQmmg)
Refugee (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBEHujd6yls)
Insider (With Stevie Nicks) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQPKjCfKq2s)
Stop Draggin' My Heart Around (With Stevie Nicks) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdURRgyqNqY)
Learning to Fly (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRnoK0sCqAA)
You Wreck Me (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDx8IuGfJYA)
Handle With Care (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18PvAgQYIRw)
I'm A Man (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJhiqn9GnCY)
Mary Jane's Last Dance (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8JRY5mLCcI)
I Need To Know (Stevie Nicks on lead vocals <3) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uH9slm33mGI)

And probably a few more. It was a super long and super kick ass set. I am so spazzed out right now. :spaz <3

Note: You can find much better audio, but I went for live performances from this year whenever possible, since that's what has me flipping out right now. XP

Iconic. Classic. Kickass. Especially Runnin' Down a Dream. I have always loved that song (since I was 5), and the solo (the one at 2:30) STILL blew me away when I saw it a few hours ago. Fuck.

One of the best and most consistent bands of the last 25 years for sure (astute observation, Mr. Crowe ^^).

I am going to have to pimp some Petty soon. Parts of his discography really are essential, and I haven't even seen Tom mentioned on the forums since I joined. :S

I pimped Petty's newest solo album Highway Companion when we had the pimp-list celebration thing but I don't know if anyone listened to it since it didn't get any comments.

Anyway, Tom Petty is great and if you like classic rock, you definitely need to check him out. It doesn't matter if it's his solo work or his work with the Heartbreakers, it all rocks. I don't even have a single favorite album. Wildflowers, Echo and Into the Great Wide Open are all very good. Not to forget Full Moon Fever, Damn the Torpedoes and of course Highway Companion.

<3 to Petty

Tom Petty is not just an amaxing musician who continues to evolve, he's a fucking icon of Rock and Roll.

I got to hear both Two Gunslingers and Zombie Zoo when I saw him back in '01.

An amazing show.

Werent you in California just a while back or am I just retarded? Maybe both. Im still in good ol SLC. Wishing my life was a little more "SLC punk" and a little less SLC.

I guess thats a good enough excuse for not inviting me. ;)

I know for a fact that I was in CA not too long ago. I am not so sure about that second bit. :P

Well, he sorta turned plain old SLC in the end anyways. :amuse

I figure inviting someone from Utah to a concert in Georgia would be reason enough for a thorough ass-kicking. XD

It WAS a fucking amazing concert though, >.>
