If you're a Fan of the Tekken or Virutua or any fighting game series really well listen up. The long awaited English version of the Popular Korean fighter I have been playing for two months is finally about to come out in closed beta.

KwonHo is a pc fighting game where you make a character and fight him against other people across the world. Skills, clothes, armor. stats, fighting style, finishers its all up to you.

This game will have a starting set of 5 martial art styles and is opening beta next week. I hope to see you on.

^Oh definately, you give it to SRK and they will crush you instantly. If you really think you're good at fighting games and want a challenge take it to a real fighting game forums which so happens to be www.shoryuken.com or since that game is a 3D fighter take it to www.tekkenzaibatsu.com if you want more competetion.

Oh well it doesn't matter some guy already posted and advertised the game in SRK's Fighting Game Discussion so all is set, and lets see how good this game really is.

I've always found online boasting pointless, not only due to the needless argument like you mentioned, but proving your worth online doesn't mean much when you consider how laggy things can get....unless it can be proven with a direct connection, (ie in the arcades, at one home or something where there's no lag), then challenges don't mean much if anything....not that anyone was issuing a challenge or anything.

Yea i know, this game isnt really flashy or nothing but its very solid and addicting for free. I'm lvl 2 with a MT fighter, names _ZergKage_. When they incorperate it someones gotta make a gym where we can hold tournies and shit. Check this game out. ^_^

I signed up, and am gonna give it a try. Seems like the selection of martial arts is very limited.

I've never been very good at fighting games, but this will give me something to do in my free time.

As I was reading over the site, does it just generalize all TaiChi arts into one?

Also, does it offer a kungfu style? Norther/Southern systems? ...although I guess I am reading into this too much, for a fighting game that uses "a", "s", and "d", and the arrow keys. But still, it would be neat to have a northern style that has a slight speed increase in footwork, or a southern art with fast hands.

yes its a general combination of all Tai Chi styles but for a game that only has one kick and punch button its very very deep combatwise.

The game is still in beta there are over 100 more moves that aren't available for the english version yet as they havent been imported.

Okay, help me out guys.

How the heck do you consistently beat MT and TKD users as anything but them (BJ, TC, J)? I'm getting sick of them spamming and managing to cripple my movements (especially as BJ and J since they are slower by far). I'm having a difficult time finding an opening to a punch/kick spammer other than ducking and doing a sweep. Even then, a smart one would learn to avoid/block the sweep and kill me yet again.

I mean, I love Ba Ji's moves since they hurt like crazy, but not even having the opportunity landing them is an issue. Every single fight has been using two moves; sweep and down-punch. I can't stay up high without getting spammed upon.

you have to stay medium range from them and abuse your counter abilities. you will lose in a fight of exchanging blows 9/10

There is a move that u buy from shop which should be your main one. I cant remember the key combination but its something like down/back, down and P or P+K and you looks like a cannon of some sort. Max that skill out and master how to use it.

if u hit them with a couple of those then ur can use your down, down/forward, punch spam to control the match.

edit: also you should be putting your points in counter attacking. Baji is strictly for counters.

^ Judo users are actually pretty strong if you know how to use it. Most Judo users that I've fought never attack directly. They wait for the opponent to attack and grab em and smash on the ground. Judo isn't really an offensive style, it's more focused on counterattack. It's hard to use, but can be pretty strong once you've mastered it.

Shin_Taiyo is unstoppable at Judo. Honestly. I had a lot of matches with him a few days ago and I've never won a round. I believe he said that one must be patient in order to be good at Judo. Of course, that definitely means I won't be :/

best thing is to stay close and low. This forces them to aim their kicks instead of spam. thats when you open up with your power moves.

Yeah, spamming MT = move back/sidestep, counter attack. It is especially punishing for me (as a BJ user) since my counter attacks are brutal.

Depends on your playing style.


If you want quickness get tkd

If you want quickness and power get muay thai

If you want graceful counters get Tai chi

If you want powerful counters get Bai chi

and Judo is for throws.

I do hardly as much damage as them when i block counter, they block counter and from my experiences MT can block after attack much quicker than a TKD.

that charging side kick is the bread and butter right there.

u can beat any newb just using that.

i just made a tai chi user and so far i have to say they are awesome!. i love how they're combos hit high and low at the same time (it pisses alot of people off :D). i'm doing pretty good right now, but i'm having problems with countering. i always seem to get spammed with punches and kicks when i try countering.

they mess with settings daily. So just log out and restart then log back in.

And make sure no programs are runnign in the background.

So i just gave up =/

What I hated was that there was no way to exit out of a game, while the fight began.

So both fighters were just stuck and couldn't do anything...

I had to switch off the mains just to escape from that stressful situation =/

I have gained alot of exp (not as in exp points), and i am feeling much more comfortable as a TKDer.

I was pwning ppl last nite, and it felt good =)

It's more analysis than prediction. I don't play this game but after watching the match video I can pretty much see what's going on and here's a tip that can be put to all fighting games. If you notice the first round Glory is reckless and throws out random moves, while the TKD guy sits back and goes for a better combo string. The later rounds Glory decided to turtle it out and won with ease because he already knows the combo strings and how to counter accordingly.

The lesson here is to always look out and analyze. Everyone has their own playstyle some more similar than others. Believe me, don't be so reckless and sit back and watch their combo strings. If you do this and they counter with that, you do an alternative. Don't spam the same thing over and over; this gets you killed. Don't know about this game, but if you throw that shit in 3s people will figure you out so fast and totally mess you up.

Oh, the guys at SRK are running a KwonHo tournament. You guys should hop on too.

just saw kisame in game, fighting that one baji user (this is Eureka by te way). seems like TC's arent very good against BJ users. their lower strikes seriously pisses and if thats not enough, they punch you when you're on the ground.

my only strategy against them is to back up and let them attack. when they're still recovering from the attack, kick em up. its a decent strategy, but not good enough to beat a skilled ba ji user. =(
