So, I've started downloading Gundam X and the first 10 episodes of 39 will be done momentarily. I have no idea what to expect of this Gundam serie but im hoping it will be great. As far as I know there is only one Gundam in this anime and that is the X Gundam. That sounds really cool to me, one awsome mech instead of many not-so-awsome.

Im somewhat hoping that it will be somewhat of a mix between Gundam Wing and Gundam SEED. The character depth from SEED but the character 'characters' from Gundam Wing (because all SEED characters are stereotypes, no original characters). Time will tell I guess.

After this one im thinking of downloading Turn A Gundam. It's the newest Gundam apart from SEED and SEED Destiny, and it seems pretty cool.

And if you could put some comments on Turn A Gundam, Victory Gundam, Gundam Z, Gundam ZZ, it would be great.

:)

So, now I've watched 11 episodes, and so far, it's awsome. It's much better compared to the early stages of Gundam Wing. The characters where over expectation. Really like Garrod, much like Duo from Gundam Wing (really like his style).

And it turned out that it wasn't just the X Gundam wich was kind of good. This Gundam serie might have one of the cooler mechs of the Gundam's I've seen. It's still very similar to Gundam Wing, at least the mechs. The two partners Garrod has, their mechs are very similar to Heavy Arms Custom and the Wing 01 (one has a big gatling gun as an arm, the other can turn into a plane).

Anyway, going to continue watching now.

And as before: comments on Gundam Z, ZZ, Victory, Turn A Gundam are much appreciated.

I'd say ZZ is the weakest series of all in UC. It started out like a show for kids. They turned Yazan (who was an AEUG killer) into a homeless clown. I really thought it was a gundam version of Teletubbies. But thank god, Tomino took care of the script towards the end, thereby saving the entire show from total humiliation.

And u probably know what i think of Z :)

You loved Z beyond understanding, or something like that? (or was it the other way around?)

So ZZ is kind of weak. Then I know that. I really like X so far, much better than Wing at least, not as much re-usage of the same scenes. Funny how the X Gundam looks like an X when thoes wings are unfolded. :P

So, Z is a good show, then I'll put it on my to-see-list for Gundam series I guess.

lol, yeah i loved Z. It's a classic.

I'm glad u like X. The mech designs are pretty good in this series.

X is a great show, though I haven't seen all that many Gundam shows (Wing, X, 8th team, first ep of Stardust memory, SeeD and currently watching SeeD Destiny) and I like them all. Except maybe Wing. It was cool seeing it once, but I think the characters are stupid. To much like superhumans. Anyway, X is cool, just wait till you get to good parts (double X :))

double x is cool, but wait for the double x g-falcon combination. A truely kick ass team. Also the leopard gets better when they upgrade it

Just had to come in and mention how unbelievably PIMP Jamil is...that's all...oh wait, the mecha designs are cool, I also like the Harmonica Cannon

So, I finally reached 24 and there came the pinnacle of my anime-awsomeness-orgasm-expirience, with the Double X. I've never seen such a cool Gundam. Freedom, go to hell! That thing blew up an island in a shot, now thats firepower.
I thought the Gundam Zero in Gundam Wing had much firepower, but the Double X is beyond understanding.

Anyway, going to keep watching. This Gundam has just claimed the #1 spot on my Gundam-fav list.

When I first watched Gundam X, I thought Garroad had the same voice actor as Yzak, they just sound so much alike at times.

Well, u gotta take count of the fact that DX can only fire its cannon when the moon is visible. Plus it doesn't fly around so well like Freedom. It's a cool design and all. But i don't find it as elegant as Freedom or Nu.

I agree, also if they hadn't taken that bluff, they could have just blown the Double X straight to hell

True, it can only fire at night, but oh the power. It makes up for both day and night shooting from Freedom wich has plenty of firepower :P

Anyway, going to watch an episode of Turn A Gundam now and see how that one is, then it's bedtime.

Turn A is slow, you aren't going to get much out of the first episode, except for a bunch of weirdness and confusion.

Wow, it's been years since I saw Gundam X. I watched it on VHS, back in the good old days, way before digital fansubs existed. I didn't like it that much, it's one of my least favorite Gundam series. However, I seem to remember that it had some pretty cool mechs and nice actions scenes. I'll probably download it and give it another watch though.

I watched all of Turn A Gundam on a bootleg DVD boxset with terrible translations. It takes a few episodes to get into, but it ends up being a pretty good series, I liked it. I haven't seen V but have heard that it's great, It's one of my next series to watch

That's why i'm gonna wait until every episode gets subbed b4 downloading the whole thing and watching it in 3 days.

So does anyone recommend me to dl Turn A??? Quite a few sites gave it a bad review.

i usually go to mahq.net to see whether or not a gundam series is good. The reviews i read said it was a good series. But it really depends on whether or not u have unlimited download.

It's a good series, the designs are just weird...actually everything about it is weird, it's like this crazy meshing of all things Gundam, with some other crap thrown in. I really don't know how to explain it as you can see, you'll just have to watch it yourself. It is good though, but don't think of it as the typical Gundam series.

So, I downloaded the 5 first episodes of Turn A, and my reaction:

"How the heck can a guy have brown tanned skin, blue eyes and white hair? Is he a african-ariyan?" -or something like that. It was simply wierd, I tried forcing myself trough the first episode but I just couldnt, it was so bad. I never had high hopes of this gundam but this surely was a let down.

I'll give Gundam Z and ZZ a try instead, hopefully, they are much better.

lol. I think pretty much every gundam start slow. But isn't turn A done by Tomino? coz if it is, u can expect some pretty good ending.

Back on the subject of Gundam X, I just finished the last episode. It was great going through this series again and seeing stuff that I missed the first time through. I must say the biggeset shock of all is seeing the Frost Brothers Alive at the end of the series, I thought Garoad killed them in the final blast.

Where the Frost brothers the ones behind Garrod and Tiffa at the end? Thought so too, better take a closer look.

Anyway, Gundam X was the best gundam I've seen so far, without a doubt. Gundam SEED gets very repetetive, it feels like you have seen it all somewhere before in the series. But Gundam X kept on bringing suprises, never a booring moment.

Another thread discussion was "What's the next gundam going to be about?", I'd like to see a follow-up on Gundam X. Or some sort of OVA to round it off, eventhough the end of it was great.

Anyway, I'll put a 8/10 grade on this gundam. So far the best COMPLETE gundam I've seen. G SEED Destiny might claim the #1 spot though, it has been very promising so far.

Hehe... I thought I was the only one who noticed that, especially when he is in battle.

Yes, as I said in the other thread, Gundam X is for me the best Gundam series in terms of character development and story. (while I also like Gundam SEED because it is for mecha action scenes junkies like me, but of course, that's a different topic...).

I really do hope that there is a follow-up to Gundam X, or at least arrange the episodes to make it a little longer, or an OVA. But at 39 episodes, it's quite complete.

Too bad, there was less space battles. No development on the Space Rebellion Forces, either. And less development for Paula Cis, who could have been a kick-ass pilot as well. :)

I haven't seen Turn A, but seeing the design for the Turn A, it looked like a Mexican Gundam. :laugh

The Turn A Gundam looks really strage. Almost as you said rugged, like a mexican gundam :P

Anyway, going to download Gundam Z and ZZ this week and start watching to see if they are anything to compare with GX, GS and GSD.

Where did you find Z gundam? I've been looking for that one

i'd like to know that too.

I've seen the series in really crappy format (30mb/ep)

I recently found high quality ep on e-mule, but they are a pain to download. It would take months.

Never underestimate the power of a 10Mbit connection and a program called DirectConnect++ (or DC++). You can find viritually anything, if you live in europe that is. As far as I know, it's not very widespread in the USA and far east.

Think of it as an mIRC but instead of chat, you download files :P

I started watching Gundam X today, and I only saw one episode so far. It looks alright from the short 20 or so minutes I seen, its good to not be dragged into a war suddenly again, instead its after it oO

Nice post-apocolyptic world.
