What character in fiction has a more fucked up life than Guts from Berserk?

Seriously I can't imagine anyone. Do you think there is someone who has suffered more than him in fiction?

Guts "feats":

-Born from the corpse of his mother who was hanged in a tree.

-3-4 years old: Saw the death of his adoptive mother caused by Bubonic plague.

-6 years old: treated like shit by his adoptive father Gambino.

-9 years old: raped by Donovan, an ugly mercenary...who bought Guts from his own adoptive father.
-Gambino tries to kill Guts...and Guts ends killing Gambino involuntarily never getting his love or his approval. He is persued by his own band of mercenaries and fall in a cliff when he had to fight wolves to survive.

-18 years old: He heard that Griffith doesn't consider him his best friend. He feels like an stranger in the Hawks. Leave beating the crap of his best friend and thinking that Caska doesn't love him.

19 years old: (probably his worst year). He rescue Griffith and he discover his best friend is practically a living corpse after a year of torture. Later the same friend betrays him and all his friends....all the people he cares is massacred in front of his eyes by monsters of another dimension in the most fucked up scene ever: The Eclipse. His old friend, now Femto rapes his new girlfriend making her become crazy. He lost an arm and an eye in that moment. Not only that...because the brand that was given to him in the Eclipse he will be pursued by spirits and ghosts all the nights for the rest of his life. Not only that...because he is branded he is damned to become part of the streams of souls when he dies losing his individuality.

Worst of all...Caska was pregnant but their child was tainted by Femto's influence and now is a demonic floating embryo.

He left his own girlfriend to fight Apostles by 2 years...living a hell every day. He then must rescue Caska from the Vatican and from a new mock Eclipse.

-Slann...one of the Godhands stabbed him leaving an astral injure that is killing him slowly...and he only can survive with the Berserk Armor that left him practically destroyed physically and mentally after every battle and it's taking all his senses away (he lost taste already).

-His enemy is practically God and angels while he is a mere human that is controlling like a puppet by the destiny designated by Idea of Evil...practically is a lost fight from the beginning without no hope.

After a guy like that....guys like Gaara, Sasuke or Batman seems little bitches crying for nothing....

So who do you think had a worst life than Guts?

I'm about to begin the manga, so I'll avoid reading that post. Sorry that my post isn't productive enough.

Yeah Gatsu has had a pretty poor life.

Nami had a pretty bad childhood too i guess(was she raped? or was that in some dodgy hentai i read), nothing compaired to Gatsu.

That girl who was released after 8 years probley had it pretty bad too...

If you really get into Wolverine, you find out that the dude has had a messed up life. He killed his illegitimate father, who had just killed the man whom he had believed was his father, his mother then turned him out of the house, so he left with the first woman he loved to Canada, where she fell in love with someone else. Soon after he had made peace with that, he accidentaly killed her when she tried to interrupt a fight he had, and he popped his claws through her(claws which he had forgotten he had). He was later manipulated, not just once by Weapon X, but even preceding Weapon X, when he joined the Weapon X program he experienced tortuous trauma when they bonded the adamantium to him while he was conscious. He's lost just about every woman he's ever loved, and a couple of them more than once, and every year on his birthday he has to worry about some psycho (Sabretooth) trying to kill him. There's some more I missed, but the point is, he's really had it bad, though I don't think he's had it worse than Gutts.

Nah, he aint emo, just a crazy psycho killer that's unstoppably brutal when he kills dude.

Also no, I can't think of anyone with a worse life than Gatts in any fiction, i've tried too..

I'd say Roland Deschain of Gillead from Stephen King's "Dark Tower" series could possibly keep up with Guts' life... but it all depends on your own point of view of what is worse...

I'm not going much into detail with this one as it would be way to long to point out all the details but Roland has shot his own mother as a boy by accident, he had to witness how his entire civilisation was practically wiped out, he witnessed his comrades and friends being massacred in the war which triggered those incidents and in the end he ended up being the last gunslinger of a forgotten civilisation who's only goal it is to hunt down the man responsible for all this and finding the "Dark Tower", where he supposedly can return those events to normal.

On his way, Roland finds friends and foes and he is forced to kill both in very gruesome, cruel ways, whether it is a small boy he has accepted as his own adoptive son and choses to sacrifice the life of this very boy just to continue with his chase after the Man in Black and the tower or be it the loss of the only woman he has ever loved and that died a horrible death by being burned pregnant with his child and other things from the past he is responsible for and haunted by.

In the end, his journey covers decades, maybe even centuries and all he is leaving on his path is a trail of blood and corpses, many of them people who trusted in him, friends and beloved ones or unrelated innocents. And it turns out that in the end he has to take this journey, over and over again, reliving all of those heart-crushing cruelties and all the madnass once again, and for another time, possibly till in all eternity.

Yeah, but I think Guts will come on top. The elementals seem to hint on a older force than the idea of evil, and judgment day seem to be at hand, judging from different characters respones to Griffith and Guts.

A judgment day where Griffith is "God's" choosen naturally. Guts oppose God, meaning that he is "anti-christ" in a sense. Now, who will get on top^^?
That remains to be seen.

But yeah, he has had a bad life, but Guts is a tough cookie^^
