The first japanimation (yes it was the thing to call it long ago and far away) that I remember watching was Starblazers. The animation, compared to today was crude, but it was all that we had, and we LIKED it. There was shortly after that Danguard Ace, Starvengers, Manzinger Z, and of course that great classic The Spaceketeers. Eventually Japanimation changed to Japanime (Yes this too was considered the vogue thing to call it at a time.) and then into the anime that we know now. I remember having to pay the full amount of the tapes to ORDER anime from the local comic shop.

I guess it could be that I just happen to be a crotchety old man of the anime crowd.

Back then when I was a kid, my brother made me watch Captain Tsubasa or Dragon Ball Z with him, I guess these were my first. Man these series were SOOOOOOOOOOOOO LONG. It takes "n" episodes to finish one match or a battle...

I watched all the anime that was on Toonami when I was younger. I believe it went like: Sailor moon at 4:00, some random show, Back to back dbz. Then I remeber Kenshin, YYH, Gundam wing all being on toonami but I forget the times. My favorite out of those is definately YYH. Yusuke is too cool @_____@

The first was one episode of Shaman King, when I was about 9. I liked Faust VIII from then, though he was a major baddy in that episode, experimenting with the good characters, but he had something charming:laugh Though I watched this anime for real only when I was 15. The first anime I watched constantly was "Samurai X", a.k.a. Rurouni Kenshin, when I was about 11-12 and I loved it. I saw Pokemon for a few times and I knew that I don't want to see it again, unless there's absolutely nothing to do, you're dying from bore, you want to watch TV but nothing's on. I liked some characters from YuGiOh, but I never much liked the show itself, and saw it only for a few times. I don't like all animes based on games- they usually are shallow, commercial and has no plot. Here's the whole story, that no one asked me to tell.:amuse
p.s. I'll share my opinion- I never liked Sailor Moon much (I just didn't feel the need to watch it) and (don't kill me now) I ESPECIALLY disliked Dragonball Z- maybe its drawing style..but when I see it, my eyes start to ache. :eek

This is a great sort of "game" to play. Its great for remembering old days.

The first one for me was Yu Yu Hakusho. My brother and I were pretty young and we decided to stay up really late one saterday night when Adult Swim/Toonami came on. The first show on there was Gundam, but we only cuaght the tail ed of the episode, the next show on was Yu Yu Hakusho, and we were instantly hooked. We watched it all the time, and when it came on Toonami during the week, we were overjoyed.
