This place is mine now. All old members are evicted for lack of posting. We are in need of a new co-owner, and definately members. Lets try and go for a new FC banner too. I'll try to spruce up this FC, but I'll need some members in here to do it. Show some love for the most attractive ninja in Naruto, people. She was practically owning Kisame's ass until Itachi bailed him out. She deserves more credit then this FC has been giving her.

Yay! Kurenai is back in the manga. It looks for certain that Kurenai is hooked up with Asuma! Go KurenaixAsuma! Although... I rather do prefer KurenaixGenma... but I guess Genma can have Shizune and no one will complain.

In my first post as a member, I would like to say that Kurenai is my favorite feminine character because she can be serious without being boring, and she just doesnt need to be funny and silly to be charming.
I wish we could see more of her, and specialy know more about her powers. We know she is a genjutsu specialist, but I would like to know more of her skills. And about her as a person. I dont know, I have the feeling she has a bit of drama in her life...

Haven't seen that one yet. I'm going to have to keep my eyes open for it. I think I saw some pics of her with a jounin vest and didn't much care for it. I like both Kurenai and Asuma more than Kakashi and Gai, and neither of them have been developed very much. This isn't necessarily a bad thing as I see it, as both characters now are free to grow more in the future, so there is always that possibility that they'll play a larger part. Plus, it leaves the imagination open to explore whatever imagined personality traits we'd like.

I hope that, in the future, all the important jounin (meaning, jounin since Naruto started) will have more space, at least for a few chapters. I wouldnt mind if Asuma, Anko, Kurenai and even Gai could have each their onw chapter, telling their own story.
Well, Kurenai has an advantage over the others: she had a flashback already - it was about Hinata, okay, but Asuma never had a flashback, for example.

Her name means Setting Sun. She is named Kurenai, which mean Crimson, after her eyes, which are crimson. She is a leaf jounin, and after the time skip she is 28 years old (I think). Her B-day is June 11th. She graduated from the academy at the age of nine, and became a chuunin at 13. She's managed to pull off 13 S-Rank missions and 125 A-Rank ones. A genjutsu specialist, she weighs 54.4 kg and is 169.1 cm tall.

The Kurenai thing is related to the fact that many think that Akatsuki Leader eyes are like Kurenai's. I dont think that is the case, but, if it was, at least we would have more of Kurenai's story.

I also like Kakashi/Kurenai. When I started to watch Naruto, I thought it would happen. I actually thought it would happen, but then there was the episode/ chapter where Kakashi himself tease Kurenai and Asuma about their relationship...
Later, of course, there was the Kakashi Gaiden, and I think that Rin, the girl on his team, is more likely as a romantic pair. Even if it is a love that stayed on the past, and because of that he can never be with someone else. Anyway, theres always Anko... But I think Asuma and Kurenai are a sure thing. Unless one of them dies, of course.

No, not really. I mean whenever you saw Kurenai you would see Asuma next to her. Plus there weren't many eligible bachelors before Genma and Raido and by then I was already set on Asuma+Kurenai

In the chuunin exam, Kurenai was next to Asuma. In the anime fillers, she was with him fighting against the ugly twins.

In Sandaime's funeral, she was also next to him.

What if her family was wiped off or something? And that may the reason why she became a jounin so late? Remember Asuma saying that during the chuunin exam?

I thought about that, too, but I've concluded that the Hyuuga do not practice inbreeding (while the Uchiha did, though I have only tenuous canonical support for that notion); Byukagan is a dominant trait appearing in both sexes. Thus, only one Byukagan-endowed parent is required to produce Byukagan-endowed children.

And yes, I'm aware that we haven't seen any non-Byukagan Hyuugas, but my writer's brain keeps seeing the Hyuuga as representing the positive yang while the Uchiha represent the negative yin, given Kishimoto-sensei's recurring juxtaposition of opposites in this narrative.

Also, I have trouble believing that the Hyuuga clan would entrust one of its children to just any old shinobi, and Kurenai didn't appear particularly intimidated by or deferential to Hiashi-sama.

See, I suspect Hinata's mother is dead, probably due to violence; further, I suspect that Hinata is the spitting image of her (the other Hyuugas we've seen are all hard planes and angles, while Hinata is all soft curves). It's this resemblance which got me wondering...

And I also concluded that Kurenai was 15 when Hinata was born, so she is of an age to have been a younger sister or a niece (assuming that Hinata's mother would be around Hiashi-sama's age, had she lived).

Hello! How is everything in Kurenai's fanclub?
So, I was thinking... Kurenai's genin team is a good one, right? I would say she is a good teacher. I do think that Kakashi, Kurenai, Asuma and Gai, teachers for the teams that took the chuunin exam, are all good senseis, but its reasonable to think that the have different styles. I love Kakashi, but I do think that, as teacher, he could have done a little better; not much, but a little. For instance, I think he didnt pushed Sakura as much as he could. Maybe he payed too much attention on the boys, and less on her than he should. Now, Asuma, even though he is Shikamaru's sensei, he was too hard on Chouji sometimes, almost making the kid thinks he was a useless fat - which he almost was, but Shikamaru did a good job helping his friend. Gai, on another hand, clearly prefered Rock Lee over the others, and couldnt be more obvious about. He even taught Lee powers and a strategy to beat Neji, also his student. Is that ethic?
Now, in face of all that, do you think Kurenai is the best teacher? She doesnt show any preferences among her students, trusts all of them, and they all got much better while working under her. And they are a team to this day. What do you guys think?
