The End All Favorite Gundam series Poll

I really wish that I could make the poll options more, but there is a limit here :cry (there are all of 23ish options I could make :amuse now to whittle it down to 10)

Myself Turn A gundam is the best... I loved it more than any other series :grin , How about yourself? please tell us exactly why you like it.

edit: and let me tell you, that breif period of time where only my vote is up is very very empowering. and yes I know I forgot Igloo, and Evolve. However they arent that relevent as maybe 3 of us have seen them

Depending on my mood I'm willing to put down one of three series as my favorite Gundam: Zeta, SEED (Without the stain of Destiny), and ZZ.

Tonight just happens to be one of my ZZ moods. Mmmmm....Haman in a bikini.

Me, I'm willing to look past what others saw as a slow start. I viewed ZZ the way it was intended, and let me tell you that following the intenseness of Zeta, the comedic and gradual opening of ZZ was a welcome relief. Sure I wanted to get back to the plot, but the characters of ZZ were genuinely interesting without being full of angst or downtrodden by war, like other Gundam casts. So, while far from perfect, the first ten or so episodes of ZZ were still entertaining and no where near as bad as Destiny. However, when the plot started moving, ZZ showed just what it could do. It had a better villain than Zeta, in Haman. Because unlike the evils of the Titans and Scirrocco, Haman wasn't truly evil. There is room for debate on whether or not Axis' moves are all Haman, or if Glemy is behind some of the more...drastic movements of the Neo Zeon war machine. And when the final showdown between two of the most powerful Newtypes, it is more epic than Kamille/Scirrocco. Over all, ZZ would be a clear leader for my favorite series if it had had just a bit more focus in its beginning and near the end. Oh, and if Tomino hadn't screwed up what should've been a perfect final showdown. Sure it was epic, but the end of the fight was no where near what should've happened.

While I agree with what NH said above, Zeta is still the only Gundam anime I've really loved. Why? Well, there are many reasons but first and foremost: Interesting characters. Without them, Zeta would have been nothing. All the betrayals and new alliances made it (to me) the most interesting Gundam anime to watch. I wasn't fully content with the ending of Zeta at first (Kamille turning into a fruitcake) but the ending grew on me for some reason, and I began to like the way it ended, despite the countless main-character deaths. And now that the Zeta Movie Triology was finished, I was complete. With the ending of the trilogy, the eending of Zeta to me was flawless and takes the specualtions about "What happened afterwards?" to a whole different level.

For UC's, it's Zeta. Mindless has said most of my points so there... :)

For AU's, it's Gundam X. Again, as I always say, this is one AU Gundam series that makes you feel you're watching a UC. Likeable characters, no overpowered Gundams, and a pretty normal main pilot-protagonist (no special powers or whatsoever - just pure kick-ass piloting skills...). :thumbs

I haven't seen some other Gundam series yet (ZZ, Turn A, 08th MS, 0080, Victory...) so I decided not to vote for THE ONE Gundam series that I really like... which makes sense on why the TS decided to use radio buttons in the first place. Screw me. :sweat

Granted Gundam X calls forth a lot of UC greatness, the greatness in Gundam X itself is the way everything was portrayed. From character conflicts to the way the story was laid out, this is probably my now most favorite Gundam series, besides G Gundam, for probably childish but good enough reasons. I have no doubt in my mind GX would have been greater than Zeta and other UC based series in many people's minds if it were given the full 49-50 eps it was supposed to have.

I'm a Zeta nut myself, but Gundam X's story is that much better, IMO.

as for me, i haven't seen much of UC but from the very few episodes of zeta that i have seen, it gets my vote. second place goes to MSG, SEED(w/o GSD of course), and the UC OVAs

I prefer Wing just because of the scene where Wu Fei gets his Gundam right next to the hotel room then jumps out and fights in the room as opposed to flaming the entire hotel, thats pretty amazing if i do say so myself. I definitely think it should be at least included because of the good characters and the nice movie that it had.

Destiny, I will probably be the only one even though that series was a piece of shit. So why did I vote Destiny? you may be asking. 3 things were in that series which happened to be my favorites of all Gundam.

Male Character: Shinn Asuka
Female Character: Stellar Loussier
Mobile Suit/Gundam: ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam
and the Music (OP/ED/Inserts)

Granted I haven't seen much of UC, because of the fact that I'm lazy and I haven't felt like getting it yet. Even then I'm sure Destiny will still be my favorite in terms of characters, designs, suits, music etc. but not for story. :P

Heh ,i didn't really like destiny or seed since there was so many repeat of the fighting scenes. I have not seen Gundam Wing since i was a kid so thats probably why i still like it :P

im noticing something here...

the guys who wanted wing tend to love it for the battle scenes and stuff which seem like the don't re-use scenes, but actually, there are re-used scenes in almost every episode...

and for the guys that preffered UC and GS, they loved the the whole experience brought by watching the show.

and, as usual, TBD liked GSD because of shinn, stelar, and the amazing palm cannon toting, Destiny Gundam:amuse

Well, you can't blame them for liking certain Gundam series for the simplest of reasons. :)

I can say that I was initially a Wing fan because I like the mecha battles as well as the music (I still love Two-Mix's music until now...).

But eventually, I became aware of other Gundam series and realized that there's more to Gundam than Wing. :P

i hate to be mean because everybody is entitled to his/her own opinion, but Gundam Wing NEVER was one of the best out there, let alone being the best... Never was, never will be... the only gundam that sucked more than wing was G Saviour... G gundam on the other hand, is a point above Wing for its originality and for being the first alternate universe gundam show. wing, appart from the battle scenes which are more or less repeated scenes, nothing was good in it... plot was bad, story was just going arround in circles, and the characters were flat, lame, and lifeless... sorry bout bashing that show, wing was also the 1st gundam show i saw, but it did not like it as much when i saw SEED and UC...

I will just comment on a few. I voted for Zeta.

Zeta was my favorite. I love the lack of fear when it came to killing off popular characters.
ZZ ruined Yazan's character, and it never recovered after that for me. Plus Judau was the lamest protagonist in the history of the Gundam franchise. Lame looking, lame personality, you can name any characteristic you want...it was lame.
08th had a ridiculously corny love story..

I've only seen the Original, 8th MS Team, 0083, SEED and GW. But out of the ones I've seen I think I like Gundam Wing better for some reason, though I enjoyed SEED as well.

I was just about to comment on how nice it is that Zeta Gundam is leading the poll. Then I realised that there is two Seed options and if you add them together...and I once again lost a little hope in the majority of NF's taste.
