i wonder if luffie san will ever get a love interest, i mean doesnt it seem natural that he should be? all main chars usually have some kind of a muse they chase after.

In my honest opinion, if there is going to be any love interest in Luffy's life I hope it happens at the VERY end of One Piece. heh

The absence of a love interest in One Piece is a bit refreshing, and with the sales of One Piece compared to other Shounens with love interest Oda must be doing something right with keeping it out. heh

Oh and if Luffy does end up with someone, I think I would like it to be Vivi.

They're all too young for romance yet, except Robin, who lacks anyone of similar age in the crew. I wouldn't mind seeing Luffy x Nami at the end though. Sorry, Vivi already has that one guy from her homeland, whose name I won't mention since it might spoil someone.

This seqeuntiality of this post is my flapping material! The one endowed the name Luffy san will never have love. His endearing comrades will most systematically and definately SUFFICE! The path of the shounen manga has never strayed down the path of LUST or in this case, unendearing love for one person. Though Oda san's masterful and superufulous enchanted writing skills could surely, mustly have a paradigm shift to thrust Luffy san into the land of love. The path of love and the man marked with the name D, shall not cross and forever be encountered together.Please let breadth of your thoughts expand farther than your blind will to hate something good natured and enjoyable!

For now, I like the absense of pairings in one piece. I think at this point it might slow the story down. If in the end, they end up adding some romance to the story, I am a LuffyxNami fan. But, LuffyxRobin is starting to grow on me. :)

As for them being too young, Luffy is 17 isn't he? That isn't too young for romance. In fact most teenagers focus on it. :amuse Most of the crew is in their middle to late teens. I think for now they are just focused on their goals and dreams.

but any type of pairing isn't going to happen soon. i honestly can't imagine any of the strawhats getting all mushy. not even sanji. (cause hes just kind of... heart -y) just try imagine robin having the blush. it just feels weird.

Well for certain members, I can see them with other people. It's obvious that Usopp and Kaya are gonna end up together one day. And for some reason, I know it's highly unlikely but I can really see Zoro ending up with Tashigi one day. But yeah, Luffy and Robin would be good later on in the series. If Luffy ever has a love interest and has kids (to continue his legacy!), the mother will be Robin imo. Again, that's if my theory about her secretly being a "D" ends up being wrong =P.

Oh the wonder requisite of LOVE. Whoever is entorched by this flame will surely rage on like a confligration. The one Luffy and Nico Robin can not encompass LUST in their astrological systems.Though present, prohibited in other such stories of lore, the unbalanced factor of AGE will not suffice. Luffy being one of 17 and Robin that of 26 blossomed years can not and will not be insinuated in the place between the covers of WEEKLY JUMP. Oda san is masterful concierto conductor, but the fate that will befallen him when he attempts to endow these two with love, with surely have the curtains of halcyon days of the manga enclose the magic and the falling action will surely come as no suprise as a ghastly demise.

why is it that people seem to think that people need to have a love intrest, or they are not a complete human being? not EVERY character needs a love intrest, okay?

is it so wrong for luffy to actually want to acomplish a goal before he goes off chasing girls?

it would majorly cheapen his character if he got a love intrest, becasue then he would be just like ll the other shounen characters

I don't think romance works too much in One Piece.

Oda once replied "They're all in love...with adventure!" when asked about romance in One Piece. I don't think he's interested in including it.

Luffy's love interst is One Piece. i'm sure that when he does find it, he'll spend many nights together with it and as a result many things might get stuck to each other. :nod
