^^^i thought the abs of steel was funny. anyways, he wouldn't be able to dodge all those arrows. He we need to go Hokage level at the beginning of the fight and kill hundreds of soldiers by the second in order to win.

About the arrow thing, I'm sure he has some shield technique to protect against them. Underground movement like Kabuto for example.

He is very fast as well so at close range he would be extremely deadly. Also his gate manipulations along with morning peacock would take out a large number of the defenders. Also he has ridiculous strenght so I'm sure he can breach the doors of the inner tower with a punch or too. Also since he is only going against the defenders and not the huge army that was attacking it then the numbers would be relatively low compared to the other army.

From this position I say that he has a good chance.

I think he might win, If he starts a Youth Rant and does his poses the Elves might take their weapons and kill themselves rather then listen and watch.

In a serious fight it would depend if he could get close. If he gets to Hand to Hand the elves die. Plus come on he is a NINJA stealth would be their specialty, I think for everyone except Naruto and maybe Gai or Jiraiya.

Its not the elf's he needs to worry about he would open the gates then scale the wall. Then Gimli would kick his arse and finish him off with a one liner

Gai could just open up some gates and destroy helms deep with a flurry of radical punches...his chakra could just deflect any arrow at that point...and as far as one on ones goes......Gimli would still rock him...;)

Honestly, as much as I love Helms deep and those of LOTRverse, it would be a serious battle for them. A few thousand versus Gai, who isn't a pushover. Elves have excellent accuracy(If we're going with the movie elves were there) and could land some strikes even with his brilliant speed. Legolas, although a great archer, alone doesn't make much of a difference(what I mean is he's good, but could be killed with a single kick, and his arrows dont make much of a difference at all in the large scheme). Gimli's sturdy, but couldn't land a strike, and his endurance would crumble before Gai. Aragorn could maybe parry/block a strike, and maybe land a blow assuming Gai has no gates open. The normal Rohirrim would be fodder against the super speed/powerful Gai, as would Eomer. Really heres how I see it.
1. Gandalf returns with Rohirim and with combined forces manages to defeat Gai(Gandalfs full power is never expanded upon, but he is VERY powerful).
2. Gai opens gates, literally destroys Helms deep, causing dissaray qand picking off survivors, and then Gandalf and co.

It's hard to imagine Gai dying at ordinary warriors and elves hands, but you honestly need to picture a few thousand, most with above normal abilities. So this is a rather close battle as I see it, though Gai wins with some good planning.

Don't think Gai can keep up the gates long enough to kill them all. So sadly Gai would lose.

Unless he has some type of AOE abilities we don't know about.

If this is the movie, then there are a piddling 300 Rohirrim in Helm's Deep along with 50-200 Elven archers supplementing them. Those are odds that Gai can definitely beat, even without the gates. He can move fast enough to dodge or block (with his nunchuks) most arrows and he can take out any opponent with one hit. The defenders aren't any more powerful than the army of Kyuubi Narutos that Kimimaro defeated, and Gai is at least on Kimimaro's level if not considerably better.

On the other hand, the defenders only have to get lucky once.

Movie Helm's Deep: Gai wins no problem. Elves? Pssh, bunch of sissies.

Book Helm's Deep: Gai gets decapitated by flying Gimli as he screams "Baruk Khazad! Khazad Ai-Menu!", then his corpse is trampled by thousands of Rohirrim.

Legolas...probably the best archer the elves have, couldn't even kill the Orc that was running with a bomb towards helms deep.

Assuming Gai stands where the orcs stood:

*Archers string there bows*
*Gai disappears from their eyes (He's running towards the wall, but too fast for them to see)*
*Gai runs straight up the wall*

Now they're within close combat range...they're dead -_-'
Naruto could destroy 2 samurai's during the Zabuza/Haku saga (I don't think the elven guys should be much stronger)
I don't think they'd be able to hit him AT ALL...

I'd say Gai = Stronger & Faster than Sauron -_-'
So they've got NO chance.
